You could try Little Tokyo in the centre of town, it's an omni place but has a great selection of vegan dishes from veg sushi to stir fries and Bento boxes... and the sake is great too! :)

crazy_4_veg, maybe it'd be worth writing to Sainsbury's and complaining - houmous is a vegan staple after all, it's madness that they would make it non-vegan. :(
See I don't think it is exactly the same as that. Of course when I go to visit my parents (or anyone else for that matter) I require all the food, drink etc to be vegan. Because I have rules about...
I don't really feel that way about my crockery. Not least because most of it is old and/or second hand and has definitely had animal products in it in the past, so I can't really see the point of...
Interesting replies... many of you are much stricter than I am about what guests are allowed to do. I feel like I did break my own moral rules by buying that milk, so I won't be doing that again. I...
I did the exact same thing as someone earlier on the thread - bought prepackaged miso soup sachets only to discover that they had fish flakes in them... d'oh... I buy miso all the time, many...
Yeah I do find it quite interesting - I'm an atheist like Dawkins and I sort of celebrate Christmas too... I say 'sort of' because I don't bother with a tree, etc in my own house and nor would I sing...
Thanks for posting this, it was really interesting to watch. I have lost a little bit of respect for Richard Dawkins now though! I just think it's a bit pathetic that he agrees with Singer's...
Roger, first of all, thanks for linking to that blog post about feminism and veganism. I agree with it whole heartedly and now I have a new blog to bookmark, excellent! :)
I definitely don't...
^ :lol::lol::lol:
Harpy, I take your points, my thoughts on the subject are somewhat muddled I do admit, and I'm sure that vegans would generally be much more likely to think about things from the animals POV than...
Indeed, imagine the phonecall: "Hi, I have a room booked, just checking to see if you have any bread..." :p
You mean they didn't even have a loaf of normal bread in the building that they could have toasted for you? There are no words...!
Think you should name and shame, then none of us will...
I clicked the wrong answer on the poll :o I went for the second option and then realised it was the wrong one as I've never had a pet! Should've clicked 'other', thinking about it more. Not sure if...
I made the commitment to going vegan after reading Peter Singer's 'Animal Liberation'. It reminded me of all the ideals I used to hold (I went veggie at the age of 10, was very into animal rights as...
^ What kind of hotel doesn't even have toast?!! :(:(
I've been vegan for approx two years although I'm not sure of the exact date because it was a gradual transition from vegetarianism... Before that, I was vegetarian for about 20 years with a few...
I voted 'dismissed', mainly because while it's easy to get vegan ingredients and cook vegan food myself, whenever I interact with the 'outside world' I realise how much of a meat-eating world we...
I agree with the commenters above who suggested Richard Dawkins. He's someone I already admire greatly, and I would love for him to have the courage of his convictions and just do what he surely...
I've returned from my trip to Norfolk!
Firstly, I have to say how much I loved Hillside in West Runton. The place was fantastic, lots of healthy happy looking animals, plus plenty of information...
A bit of internet searching has revealed a pub in Sheringham called The Lobster who have a few vegan options on their menu - has anyone been there??
There is also an animal sanctuary in West...
Hey, thanks for those suggestions. According to Google Maps though, it'll take at least an hour to drive to either one of them!! A bit further than I want to drive for a meal out at night, really....
Hi,
I'm going to Norfolk for a holiday next month, will be staying (self catering) in Wells-next-the-sea. Does anyone know of anywhere we could get a vegan bite to eat one evening without driving...
Hello, I have a question! (And it's not about tempeh this time :D, I still haven't managed to buy any btw!)
Anyway. Does anyone know of a good Chinese takeaway in Leeds (pref North Leeds) which...
My favourite sammiches:
Olive/basil/rosso tofu (Taifun brand) or smoked tofu with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, Plamil egg-free mayo and tabasco;
Tofu-weiner or Redwood sausages with salad, Plamil...

I made this recipe yesterday (with soya Pure marge and soya milk instead of butter and cow's milk!) and I can second what you say about it... it's LOVELY. I halved the recipe and it made TWO massive...
Where is the tempeh in OOTW?! Was there the other day, I looked for ages and couldn't find it. I could see fake bacon made out of tempeh, but not plain tempeh.
As for seitan, well that is a shame...
I'm new to the board and a Leeds vegan... so just wanted to say hello! :)
I've been to Hansas numerous times, love those tasty dhals but wish they could make a soy lassi! Have tried Roots and...
