Lectins serve enzymatic functions in digestion, help with blood properties and citculation, and aid in immune system functioning. Why is there argument against them? The only issue with them is...
I'm on my phone once again, still flu-ish, so here goes:
I guess you could say I'm weight restored, mostly physically recovered, but mentally struggling a lot. Sometimes I have an easier time than...
Bailley, I understand what you're saying. I've dealt with an ED for 13 years. And since I'm sick and on my phone, I'll leave a short message now and just say this... Although eating filling/...
Hi! I'd love to be your au pair, but I live in the US. I saw your post about issues with your last au pair, which is really unfortunate! I hope the au pair search goes well to find someone that fits...
Oh, sorry. I don't have a real answer to your question... I don't live in the UK (and havent been there in years) so I don't know what you have and how it compares to what they may have in Spain.
Idk where you're visiting in Spain, but when I visited Southern Spain, I shopped at El Cortes Ingles. They had soy milk (one of the only places in town with plant milk) and lots of fresh veggies. I...
I hope your dietitian's meal plan helps. I hope to work in the field soon. :)
I found replacing ensure w/ vegan smoothies (soy/ rice milk combo, a banana, and some berries) twice a day helped me....
I use an iPhone w/ apple iOS but will soon be testing out HP's smartphone that uses Palm OS.
Hi laces! It's good to hear you're working on recovery. :) Can you talk to your dietitian about creating a vegan meal plan for you?
Me too!! I'm doing my best to get well and the support is so nice, Harpy. :D I'm sure I'll be more specific when I have more time online. Just trying not to hijack Ashley's thread.
Btw, Ashley, I...
Aw, thanks! Well... I'm taking it one day at a time. Just hoping some things improve. :)
Good to see you back, Ashley!! :D
I agree. And from my point of view, it's VERY triggering to read posts with calorie info, especially when it's obvious you're not eating enough. :(
Veganwitch & RubyDuby, your meals look sooooo varied and yummy!! I'm jealous!
Oh no!! I'm so sorry! Are you forced to leave bc your visa/ etc? If not, you could continue to look for work outside of your agency...
Hi! I'm a nanny and caregiver and have found a lot of my jobs through Care.com. I heard back from a parent the day I posted my qualifications and experience!! It's great! You can search locally, so...
I go through phases. Right now I'm eating a ton of bananas. I love cherries, nectarines, some apples, and oranges. :) Quality definitely decreases in the winter. I need to move back to California...
Witchy, as far as B12, take the methylcobalamin form instead of the cyanocobalamin form! You don't have to take the ones that dissolve, either. :)
I've had a few 'round the world' tickets... so I guess the furthest from home would be everywhere!
everything :satisfied:
Here's a whole website on running and a page with playlists other runners use. :)
I don't live up there anymore. :( I'm on medical leave. Should be back in the fall, though!
Yep!! Omg, best place at school ever! Do you two go there?
HAH! :p I still want that "insanity" DVD! Sounds insane bro!
That's awesome!!
I haven't yet reached vegan years exceeding my vegetarian years, but I have been veg*n for more than half my life! Just surpassed that milestone a few months ago. [Omni for my...
Your post was really, really helpful. I'll PM you. :) I don't want to further hijack the thread.
Woo!! Awesome work, Essy! :bigsmile2:
I feel the same! It's beyond frustrating. I just wonder when this will end for me. I've felt this way for a long time, 12 years of my 23...
Fiamma, sorry to hear about your low energy levels, though. Have you been seeing a dietician and getting blood tests? I get the blood tests regularly and have yet to have normal red blood cell or...
Another fellow ED friend here. I have had an ED for a long time... but have worked on recovery "on and off" for 2- 2 1/2 years. I can understand the fear. That's the part that keeps me disordered. I...
You are NOT ancient! You're younger than my parents, who both hike, kayak, bicycle, travel, etc. Ancient... sometimes I feel like it, but I know we're not :)
I definitely understand the...
I know this stuff...
I was just giving Sandra a little poke and asking about her intentions.
I creak, too :p! Why is Ms Sandy on this thread? You're tiny!
There are veg*n dietitians. I'll be one soon!
And no dietitian should tell you that carbs are evil... Of course, depending on your health issues, your dietitian might agree...
They've done this crap at my university, too. I couldn't stand to watch them marching the elephants around town, but I did go to the arena where the circus was held (which was on campus) to protest....
I noticed that I really never did smell... But I was veg*n before puberty, so idk. I just smell like salt when I work out hard. I think it's because I drink like 3-4L of water/ day and that just...
OMG, that sounds amazing!! I want, I want!
I've been meditating on the deck in the sun everyday for 30-60 minutes. It's so amazing. Though, it's only the 4th day I've seen the sun since like... November; but I hope it stays this...
Me too! I have a ballet studio in the basement, though... so I wouldn't have any room for an elliptical. Unless, I put it in the dining room or library. Weird places to work out! :p
Yeah, ellipticals are really low impact and super good for toning. I love them! If I do the uphill setting, it also helps stabilize core muscles like with running, without the impact on my vertebrae...
