Re: Juice as Unhealthy as Sodapop?

Scientists think that the craving for sweets actually evolved as a way to ensure we got Vitamin C. Those who did not like fruit would die of scurvy before they had children. So it makes sense that we...

Re: Juice as Unhealthy as Sodapop?

Don't like water??? How sad! My kids drink almost nothing but water. I have to talk my daughter into having soy milk with her meals.

Re: Let's Get Fit and Healthy Together!

I am doing a 5K race this coming Sunday, and I have cut down my running so I can be fresh for it. I didn't exercise for 3 days, and I felt so awful!! I was tired and had a persistent headache that...

Re: Juice as Unhealthy as Sodapop

I've never given my kids juice-in fact, my daughter hates it. I think a lot of parents are fooled into thinking any amount of juice is ok, so they let the kids have unlimited quantities while...
  5. Re: Do you have a good relationship with your father?

Ditto. I realized a few years ago that my father probably IS dead (he used to get in touch every 10 years or so, when he needed money). It was literally: "Oh, I guess he's dead. Now what will I make...

I thought I was the only one who put lettuce in my smoothies! I like them with carrots, too. I always put seaweed in mine, too (for the iodine).

  8. Re: Do you have a good relationship with your father?

Sounds a lot like my experience, scarlet! My father had serious drug and emotional problems. He left when I was a baby. I was raised by my screwball mother (I had a stepfather during a brief period...

Poll: Re: What's your Body Mass Index ?

I think 18.5 is at the extreme lower end of the healthy range; 19.5 is still a bit low, but better (I'm about 5 pounds under my recommended weight, at 19.5).

Poll: Re: What's your Body Mass Index ?

Mine's down to 19.5. I've decided to stop losing weight-my face is starting to look a little thin, so I think this is a good stopping point for me.

Re: Do you check your blood pressure regularly?

I've always had a very strong heart, even when I didn't exercise. Now I exercise like a maniac (and love every minute of it:D ), so in the past 3 years it's gone from the 60's down to the 40's.
