Re: Beans, beans, the magickal fruit....

I quite agree. Canned food is vile.

I doubly hate that they put high fructose corn syrup in the tinned beans here. Beans do not need high fructose corn syrup in them.

    Re: Pressure Cooker?

They're 2 different things. A pressure cooker cooks by pressurising the contents under high heat, while a slow cooker is a pot with an element under it meant to cook very slowly.

    Re: Recipes for Portabella Mushrooms

Absolutely you can. If you have an immersion blender, you can use that, too.

Mostly, I just put the spices and oil I want in a jar and whisk it well to combine. If I'm using a jar that has a lid...

    Re: Too many carbs??

    Re: Potatoes

The lumps are the best part, IMO. I can't handle mashed potatoes that don't have lumps in them.

Yes, I'm strange and I know it. :D

Roxy - yes, I think it is vodka that's made from potatoes. :)

There is where your problem is. You're only meant to pass it through once. Then, add the [vegan] butter and milk and gently fold to combine.

That's the way the cook shows do it here. :)

Re: replacing sucanat with organic sugar?

Yes, they can be replaced. Caramel is simply sugar that's been heated to melting with a syrup in it such as corn, rice, etc (to help prevent crystalisation) and butter and cream added to make it...
