They also had a semolina cake that looked yummy. It just needed the yoghurt replacing.. I'm going to try it and I'll post if it works.

Surely that is easily replaced with a good quality vegan spread? I've never found replacing butter in pastry-type recipes to be a problem. Try not to give up so easily.:D
