I wouldn't say even half of the recipes involve vital wheat gluten, and of the ones that call for seitan you can always sub tofu or leave it out altogether.

re cholent: vcon does specify chunks, not granules. I have never seen chunks. :confused: still haven't made it as can't bring myself to drop $5 on seitan at the moment.
oh yes, i have tvp... I don't know why I assumed chunks would be bigger? The ones I have are like panko bread crumbs.
