I disagree. Vegetarian restaurants very often have far, far more palatable vegan options than omni places. If all I wanted was a head of lettuce, I'd go to Sainsbury's!

That's awesome! Thanks very much indeed. *bookmark*
Something like this really ought to be integrated into happycow. :)
 I'm familiar with that problem...
No worries! :)
I can recommend the carrot cupcakes!
I've been to the Wagamama in T5 Departures (airside), and it was fine (other than my ineptitude with a pair of chopsticks...).
You clearly didn't like it, but a lot of us did!
There is only one book that that can be, surely - Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. A must-have.
ooh, that sounds good too! Can you send some over? Should get here in time for dinner... :D
Yes! Baked with roasted chilli and tomato sauce and Cheezly (or whatever). Go make some now!
Mmm, polenta... :tongue_ani:
I personally feel that these kinds of attempts are possibly unfair on the individual animals concerned. Their ancestry is not their fault. The domestication of animals is a hugely complicated...
girl can and I went there for our wedding meal 18 months ago.
In my opinion, no. What is done is done, and not by most of us - just by members of our species. I don't think that trying to undo these kinds of things is possible or advisable, and I don't think...
Yeah, I love tamari! And I think this book is the best of the three, overall. :)
Big +1. :)
<--- admits that he has yet to try the Taifun tofu. :)
But that ruins the whole point of the previous stuff! It went from fridge to stomach in about zero seconds. And made a nice addition to sandwiches etc. for lunch. If I wanted to do any proper...
Yes! It was the best news I'd had for ages when I discovered that. :)
(Although, in my experience, their desserts don't tend to be as good as their best main courses.)
welp, having tried it, I sure as hell won't be buying any more!
Highly recommend that! Have to say that it's my favourite London restaurant, foodwise, though be warned that it is a bit pricey.
+1. Not sure if this has been mentioned before around here, but Manna seems to be completely vegan nowadays. (Different type of restaurant to this one, I know.)
Both skiing and snowboarding are examples of so. many. things. that I'd love to try, but have never got around to... :(
I've got into a bad habit recently of having: a hunk of vanilla Swedish Glace, a huny of raspberry ripple, a load of sliced bananas, agave syrup, chopped nuts and hundreds and thousands, and a cup of...
+1 (to general vibe). The new stuff is HORRIBLE. bleh.
hahaha - I knew there must be a reason I'm not keen on them! :D
I'm not a big fan of microwaves, just because they take up a lot of space, and don't seem to do much that a stove and oven won't. And it is difficult to judge how long to cook things for, and I find...
Hi paul,
Do you live on a boat? It's a couple of years ago now, but "girl can" and I lived on a Dutch barge for a while. We didn't look for restaurants etc, but spent some time on the Medway,...
Have you got a John Lewis up there? I would've thought they might have it, or something that would do if not.
No. 1: ethics re. animals. I am on board with protecting the environment also, but that's not what I think of as one of my reasons for being vegan.
I've found a recipe for chickpeas!
Sorry. I'll get my coat.
I could make it on 14th but not the other days (due to evil work) and would love to meet up with people if it ends up being that date. If not, some other time! :)
Ugh. Sickening, sickening. I so hope that this isn't genuine. (I've never even heard of Miley Cyrus.) :(
aww, that's a shame. Hope you have a good trip anyway. :)
yay, good choice! Say hi from me (if they remember).
I really should introduce myself and start posting properly at this board - I never seem to get around to it...
No problem! Hope you had are having a good trip. :)
I'm not sure about restaurants etc, but if you need somewhere to stay, I can't recommend the Alberta Guesthouse highly enough. I stayed there for a night about 18 months ago while I was in the area...
