  2. Re: Is a vegan diet ecologically sustainable?

The ethics concerning veganism are complex and it is therefore inappropriate to reduce them to a polarized debate.

To just focus on the ecological arguments for veganism, it could be argued that...

Thanks CC that recipe looks awesome. I notice that you use coconut oil. Someone told me that this is the healthiest oil to cook with because it doesn't oxidise. Would you recommend this over olive...

    Re: The Horrible Horrible Heat!

Yes Perth summers can get hot too but from what I can gather, not as hot as Adelaide ones. Perhaps I am deluding myself, it wouldn't be the first time.

I like Tassie, perhaps I could live in...

Thanks for your responses everyone. I originally got the idea from a carton of rice milk with added chickpeas (for protein) that I bought some time ago and it tasted really good.

I am trying to cut down on the amount of soy in my diet and was wondering if oat milk with chickpea flour in a smoothie/milkshake would be a good protein filled replacement. Does anyone know if...

Re: Serious nutritional concern (need multivitamins!)

Your deficiency is an indication that you haven't totally perfected your vegan diet yet. Three brazil nuts a day will give you all the selenium you need and kelp tablets are great for iron and iodine...

Sticky: Re: Green your diet before your car - New Scientist 17th December 2005 page 19

People in colder climates should be allowed to have a greater ecological footprint for those times when food needs to be shipped in. This could be balanced out by a more minimised eco footprint by...

  18. Re: Help me look good naked - healthy eating and exercise plan needed.

  19. Re: Is soya bad for your health?

Yes it is made in Japan and that is the one drawback. Drinking bonsoy does have a higher ecological footprint than drinking Aussie made soya milk.

However in this era of globalisation, trade...
  20. Re: Is soya bad for your health?

The answer to your question is bonsoy. It is slightly more expensive than most brands of soy milk but well worth the extra price. For starters it does not contain added vegetable oil and other...
  21. Re: Help me look good naked - healthy eating and exercise plan needed.

If you are referring to the food combining diet, I'd like to emphasise that this is not so much a diet but a way of eating healthily and it dates back thousands of years.
  22. Re: Help me look good naked - healthy eating and exercise plan needed.

Try also the food combining diet. Don't mix starches and proteins in the same meal. For example stir fried veggies and rice is good or tofu and veggies is good. Chilli without the burrittos etc....

Re: turning myveggie 2yr old into a vegan!

  28. Re: Pizza - Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Dominoes etc
