I took a look out of curiosity and cheap cheeses are about a fifth of the price and expensive ones about half the price.
Shame it's not more comparable. They did reduce their shipping costs. I...
It is a shame about the high price of the Vegusto cheeses. They are by far the best I have tried since going vegan, I was suprised how similar it tastes to dairy cheese. I had found other vegan...
Yes it's a shame they don't have to label it when they change the ingredients. I had drunk it for ages as it used to be vegan and only realised a few months back it had changed. Not that it's nice...
Not many details yet but a worker at the F Drury & Sons abattoir has been killed in an accident. Lets hope he went the same way as some of the animals they murder there every day. It's the same...
I've Just got back from tesco with 24 brothers pear ciders and 8 pear magners, all for £20. The brothers seems like quite a nice one, quite strong at 7% though. The magners isn't bad too. Went to a...
I'll have to check those out. Not tried any of the Brothers ciders before.
On another note has anyone spotted the Westons pear cider in any supermarkets this year? I can't seem to find any by me...
I know the feeling. Doesn't help being a total lightweight anyway! lol
Have to keep an eye open for Magners pear, quite keen on pear cider anyway so that would be a good one.
I also used to...
Anyone know which of the mainstream ciders (easily found in pubs) are vegan?
I love the Westons ciders but hardly spot these in pubs.
A Belgian music festival, which prides itself on its horse-meat sausages, is going meat-free on the day that vegetarian singer Morrissey performs.
The 10-day Lokerse Feesten, which boasts...
I'm living in hope they start stocking the grassingtons burgers etc for the summer. They do some nice bits and a good price when asda has them in.
They used to do a lot of worthwhile bits at Asda but they seem to discontinue most the things I like. Their musili was great and stupid cheap but that disappeared a few months ago. They did some dark...
anyone been to the vegan camp?
There is one this August in Derbyshire
Just been camping for a week and found Asda's meat free sausage mix to do well. Did also try the burger mix which isn't bad but the sausages won overall. Only about 80p a pack and good lightweight...
Been to Skye a few times and there are a few good Co-op supermarkets. One in Portree and the other in Broadford. Don't know if there is anywhere that caters well for vegan meals though.
There is...
I find cooking in large batches a really cheap way of cooking. I'll often make a big batch of chilli, curry or pasta sauce that does about 15-20 servings and then freeze what I don't need right away....
Also in asda Linda McCartney Country pies £1.32 for a box of 4. Yum
Thanks everyone. Sounds like it shouldn't be a problem to leave the nest there.
I'll let you know if my house gets overrun by giant spiders!
I have a spider that has made a nest full of eggs in my bathroom. Anyone know if there is a way to move it without damaging them?
Tesco has some 70% Dark Chocolate with raisins and hazelnuts marked down to 64p for a 100g bar although they charged it at 32p! :). It's organic and fairtrade too! Just bought the last 2 bars from my...
Hope no one buys these as after noticing the ingredients on the new packaging for the nutty flavour now list honey I took a look on their website to see if the recipe had changed or if it was a...
Thanks, you'll just have to send a photo of what you would have brought along instead! ;)
Please come along to a vegan potluck in the park on Sunday 10th October. Just bring yourself and some food to share. More info at: http://potluck-in-the-park.co.cc/
Finally ordered some wheat gluten from the link to the lowcarbmegastore listed above. Was chuffed that it came the next day. Just tried out the link to the recipe posted by gutts. Quite impressed...
Great, I'm working weekends at the moment but planning to quit before long. will be sure to come along to one with my partner if there still going then.
Hey, Welcome to the forum. I don't know too much about the soy issue but I can remember reading a few articles in the vegan health section of the forum a few years back. Might be worth a peek in...
Would love to come but have to work :(
Yeah I have been using the Thai green curry one too. Does help make a nice curry. Lasts a while too.
In my junk food inspired search of all the cakes on the shelf at Morrisons I discovered that they sell Pineapple tarts that are vegan and labelled as such :D (pretty amazing for Morrisons to have...
Might be a bit late now but Bath Place Community Venture do just veggie food and often some vegan stuff too. Their prices are really cheap. Although I haven't actually eaten there I did go to a...

Thought i'd make people aware of this as was surprised by how many ice cream's contain animal rennet. If anyone...
Just back from Morrisons with 3 packs of these! They were half price at 74p so it seemed wrong not to indulge :)
Had two cookies on the way home, very nice. Could quite easily work my way through...
Ooh cool, I'll keep an eye out for these!
That seems a good price. I've wanted to make seitan for ages. Hope they get it in stock soon. The only place i've seen it cheaper is if your buy 25kg for £36.00
Waitrose tend to stock the marzipan and peppermint variety. You can shop online with them to get it delivered.
They look nice. Will have to keep an eye out for them. Morrisons do their own apricot crumbles in the bakery section and they are quite nice. Wonder if they are similar.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of any snack type bars that happen to be vegan rather than the expensive health food store type ones.
One's I know of:
Asda - Choc chip cereal bars (value range)...
Thats a shame, i remember them doing nice vegan sausage rolls in there.
If custard isn't your thing the vegan whippable cream you can get may work well instead
I'm not a big custard fan myself, or at least not when it's hot. Cold stuff is much nicer IMO. especially if it's in a nice vegan trifle along with a good bit of brandy, yum.
Yeah Warwickshire...
Lol, I'm in Kenilworth. I'm working near Rugby tommorrow tho!
Won't do you much good driving here, there's only one doughnut left and my girlfriend wants it. I can't imagine she'll be impressed...
