It is awful that you're dealing with so much prejudice. Most people I encounter around here are pretty ignorant to it, but don't give me too much to much of a hard time about it (for the most part)....

I went from vegetarian to vegan about 1 month ago. I thought I would have a really hard time because of the love I had for cheese. Honestly after 1 month....after 2 weeks......I don't even miss...

I find high fructose corn syrup is on nearly every food label in the US.

I use newspaper or coffee filters. I use the vinegar solution from time to time but sometimes I cannot stand the smell....and it seems to linger.

Laurin, this is great advice. I am in the process just as you are. I have converted my diet completely. As far as cosmetics, soaps, hair care, cleaners. I'm using up what I have and buying vegan...
