I just made this dressing again for the first time in AGES, and it's just as good as I remember it! YUMMY.
I just got my copy today! It's great, it has 30 new recipes and all the best, easiest recipes from her first 3 books. And I sent her 5 ideas for recipes to include from her first 3 books, and she...
I've never heard of a black apricot Roxy! It sounds good! I'll try to find some around here.
Today I tried a barbecued pizza sub. I got the recipe from The New Vegetarian Grill (minus the cheese)....
(My apologies if there is already a thread about lettuce wraps; I did a search and couldn't find anything)
So I've been on a lettuce wrap kick lately. I like eating them better than tortilla...
I wonder if they will ever make the flavoured varieties non-hydrogenated. Right now only the plain variety is available non-hydrogenated. :(
I just ordered this book from Chapters! It got 35 great reviews on Amazon. I'm getting tired of eating Asian food all the time (don't get me wrong, I love it, but I want to expand my ethnic food...
I might be totally wrong, but it doesn't seem to me like the spankings worked, since you say you continued be bad throughout your childhood and they had to keep spanking you until you were 15-16. I'm...
I've been using Jason moisturizer for a long time and really like it, but I don't like that it doesn't have built-in SPF. I want to start protecting my face from the sun (I rarely wear sunscreen...
OMG I just got my CASE of Whizzers Speckled eggs in the mail today! I heard about them years ago and thought they were only available in the UK. Well a few weeks ago someone brought a case of Cadbury...
Granted, but chopping off a newborn's earlobes or nostrils would definitely constitute child abuse, and I think it is very strange that chopping off a newborn's foreskin is not considered the same.
I do wonder why it's legal to circumcise a baby against his will, but if you do it to an adult against his will, it's assault.
I also wonder why it's legal to circumcise a baby against his will,...
Oops sorry, I misunderstood!
Yes I suppose I could do the actual stir frying in water or broth, then add the oil after. Thanks for the tip!
My sesame oil is raw and unrefined, which is why it has an expiration date. It's not meant for high temperatures, so I wouldn't want to use it for stir frying.
Yes but what about people who eat only raw food (no refined sugar) and still have dental problems? It seems strange that we're supposed to brush 2-3 times a day, and animals go years without brushing...
 I'd better rinse well after or I'd stink like sesame all day!
Breakfast: half a whole grain bagel with tofutti non-hydrogenated cream cheese
Snack: one double chocolate almond explosion cookie (from Vive Le Vegan). Best cookie EVER.
Snack: some organic...
I'm bumping this thread because I have almost a full bottle of sesame oil that's going to expire soon! It's unrefined and isn't good for high heat.
So, anyone have some good recipes that use...
I've been wondering about this. Many apes, especially gorillas, eat a high fruit diet, and their teeth are fine. I wonder why humans are so susceptible to tooth decay on a raw diet, if it's the same...
I made it again tonight. It was just as good as the first time! I'm not a huge tofu fan, but the marinade on the tofu combined with the almond sauce makes it SO good! I have enough for lunch for the...
Breakfast: half a whole wheat bagel with tofutti cream cheese
Snack: Smores flavour Luna Bar
Lunch: homemade granola with almond milk
Snack: bag of regular chips
Supper: red vegetable...
Sometimes I want to drink coffee but I hate the taste so much! :p
Perhaps, but most cakes only have 2 eggs for the whole cake, so one slice is only a small fraction of an egg. Unless they eat the whole cake, then they'll be in trouble :D
True, but I imagine that most people who eat eggs don't eat them every day, so they probably average about 1 a day. (I'm not defending the ridiculous "study", but I don't think that 1 egg a day is...
I found a link to the article. Their "conclusion" is that dietary cholesterol can raise blood cholesterol, but it's too much saturated and trans fat that "generally contributes more" to unhealthy...
Unfortunately I just read a study that "debunks" the myth that eggs are bad for your cholesterol. They did a study that showed that people who ate one egg a day actually ended up with lower "bad...
This is so true! I can't STAND the commercials touting eggs as "nature's perfect food"
Breakfast: half a whole grain bagel with coconut oil and strawberry spread
Snack: soy yoghurt with cranberry crunch cereal mixed in. Half a fresh pineapple
Lunch: stir fry with spicy almond...
I'm pretty sure they do. I googled "crushed red pepper" and apparently it is very similar to the common red chili pepper flakes.
Argh, I know! My colleague at work is selling frozen fruit for a fundraiser: blueberries from Quebec, cranberries from Maine, and raspberries from Chile. Chile? I find it hard to believe that you...
You can get organic apples, berries and root vegetables here, but in winter, there's not a lot of variety of anything unless it was imported from the south.
Hi all, this recipe is from Vive Le Vegan, but I altered it a bit. I HAD to share it with you, because it is so freaking good!!! I couldn't stop talking about it all yesterday evening after supper,...
I do my groceries at 2 stores: a small health food store, and the large supermarket next to it. Between the 2 of them, it seems I can only get non-organic produce that was relatively locally grown,...
That's great! It makes me want to write to Amy's and ask them to stop using honey in their Veggie Loaf frozen dinner. During my brief stint as a vegetarian, before going vegan, I ate them a lot, and...
Well, my comment was hidden in an extremely long post :)
I sort of mentioned it. I said,
"But there are other things that it is not practical to avoid eating, like fruit, vegetables and grains. Someone who eats only fruit, vegetables and grains is doing...
Ooh, that spaghetti looks good Melanie!
I have a cold today, so I didn't eat very well:
Breakfast: homemade granola with soymilk and a sliced banana on top
Snack: a chocolate almond...
LOL that's a great alarm clock too! I love thinkgeek :D
I read an interesting fact somewhere: when you splash water on your face to wake up, it's not the temperature of the water that makes you wake up. When your face is covered in water, it tricks your...
Thinkgeek.com has a nice selection of relatively cheap novelty alarm clocks. Might I suggest the "Sonic Bomb Alarm Clock with Bed Shaker", which claims to be louder than a jackhammer :D
I also...
Mmmmm, veggie sushi...now I have a craving!
Today:
Breakfast: homemade granola with strawberry soy yoghurt
Lunch: scrambled tofu (my first time making it, it was good!) with 2 slices of...
