Was the ice cream in an open chest freezer type thing because the freezers all have doors too now.
Our H&B has a brand new fridge/freezer! Hopefully they're getting them in all stores so no more break downs and gone off food that hasn't been chilled properly as the fridges have actual doors!
I think the ingredients costs would make it considerably more expensive to make them larger. Doesn't seem much bigger but a 10" pizza is more than twice the size of 7".
Tried the meatless feast and cheezly & tomato pizzas this evening, they were both very nice! All they needed was a bit of salad cream, but then all pizzas need that.
According to their website...
I got an email from Cranks saying these were vegan;
Classic Sandwich – Houmungoulsy Delicious
Deep Fill Sandwich – Houmungously Crunchy
Wrap – Crunchy Lunch
^ I saw them today as well, there were wraps as well. I was going to buy two but decided not to since they only produce vegetarian sandwiches but can't be assed to write suitable for vegans on them.
H&B seem to be becoming the DFS of health food stores. It's almost like their sales never end!
What exactly is it that you couldn't find out? That Goodness Direct are owned and run by the Jesus Army or that the Jesus Army is a cult with some very shady practices?
I haven't fact checked this but...

I'm not making it up...
http://lmgtfy.com/?q="goodness+direct"+"jesus+army"
(Please excuse the link, didn't mean it to be patronising but wanted it to show up properly)
^ I'm not trying to convince you, just explaining why I don't like buying from them myself. I buy most of my shopping from Tesco's that sells meat so each to their own really.
Well, although the wikipedia page doesn't reflect it, they are a cult. You have to give up all your possessions and share all your earnings when you join (and that's just one of the things they do)....
^ Because that's their name, it wasn't a derogatory statement, that's what they call themselves.

They run Goodness Direct
^ Couldn't you ask H&B to save stuff for you or order it in? I try to avoid GD myself, don't like giving money to the Jesus Army.
^ Fair enough.
What's your point?
I'm surprised H&B are doing 20% off Fry's food after the massive tantrum that Beanies threw a while back.
It's a smart marketing move, the health market is much bigger than the vegetarian market and veg*ns are savvy enough not to need ads.
They must have been spinning the yarn about trying to go egg...
I wasn't calling you a bad name LV, just trying to work out what the last word might be
Buy One Get One Free F**ker?
^ Don't worry pob, it'll break down in a few days.
^ I've never actually seen anyone buy any of those massive tubs of whey protein and whatnot despite visiting many many times in several different stores.
Just got my loyalty card, was expecting a cheapo flimsy job like Superdrugs but it's a proper hard plastic card with a key fob. The card's great but they need to fix the website, any time you want to...
What reward scheme's that?
They have working freezers? Since when?!
I'd rather support vegan products in a national chain where they'll be made available nation wide than support it in a local store where it'll only benefit me and a few others locally.
Message from Beanies
I've been talking to Fry's (in South Africa) by email and what they've told me is that Beanies who import Fry's products could afford to absorb the 4% price increase but have chosen to 'make a stand'...
It's a Christian organisation that runs Goodness direct, including all it's employees. It's a bit culty...
^ There's often £10 codes on Facebook adverts as well (Which they usually post on their facebook page also.) My only problem with them is I don't like giving my money to the Jesus Army.
Fry's clearly see H&B as bullying them in some way here but I don't think they realise how absurd their prices are in the UK. It's no surprise that their prices are so high when they are shipping...
Not surprised it's over pricing, fry's stuff costs way too much.
^ Even though sheese is far superior to cheezly in every way?
There's a good chance you won't like it aliaslotte, there's a big divide over the preference of vegan cheeses. A lot of people don't like any vegan cheeses either, especially if it's not long since...
Are you sure they still do the buy one get one free offer? I didn't think they'd done that for a few years now.
Well, it's terrible that they're all animal tested but they are tested and proven to work. I avoid medicines as much as I can but my opinion is that if you need them then you need them and there's...
They've been in trouble for this before. I'm sure it works for some people even if it isn't scientifically accurate, placebo treatments can have a very powerful effect and if the NHS are funding...
Just had a jerky jamaican vegetable lattice slice from h&b, are they new?
That's obscene :surprised_ani:
I've seen lotsa knackered fridge/freezers round here too.
