^probably the same reason as many other vegan foods are dearer; there is a smaller market for it, so they don't sell as money, so need a higher profit margin. Also, as there's no competition for it...

Breakfast is always the same for me. I always have porridge made with soya milk. although I make it half with ready-brek and half with rolled oats. Then I flavour it with cocoa powder, sugar or agave...
I get mine free cos I turned 16 and hold an account with Britannia :D
^They're amazing! Yum yum.
When I first read the thread title I was thinking 'ew', cos I was thinking of bone marrow xD Took me a while to realise it probably meant squash marrow :P
^ mmmm 99% is yum! I first found it in france and had great difficulty finding it in England, but I've found it now so I'm well chuffed :D
^ a curry with cheese in?!?!?!
wth?
Mmmm soup
hey me too Passionfish!
OMG I used to love that when I was a kid! It was my favourite 'toy'.

Chocolate avocado mousse :D
Did you mean by that that it's only available in the US?
If so, I've seen it in a small whole foods shop local to me, and I'm in UK.
The one in the red carton? I love that stuff!
I always avoided so good because of the fact it was soy protein isolate. Now if I see it on offer I won't hesitate to buy it.
I've had the co op low fat one but I thought it was rather bland.
Tesco's value kidney beans - 19p per tin, very cheap, quick, and tasty! Though they're not as good quality as the 60p + tins, they make more ecomnomical sense. I find cooking beans too much hassle,...
Ohh! I have had mock duck, actually. I thought it may have been seiten when I had it, but forgot about that when I posted it.
Tempeh is something I've thought of too.
I second the seiten. I also think you'd have good business selling cheap yet tasty vegan chocolates and sweets/treats, and of course vegan marshmallows.
The clothing is a good idea, too.
I've had '2 sets' for as long as I can remember, and I really have nothing covering them up, so unfortunatly I think I either need to actually gain some weight or my bone structure just gives me two...
^I have to adapt the recipe for my Food Tech coursework, and one of my specs is to decrease the fat.
In a recipe book i have, it has a recipe for a mushroom stew with herb dumplings, however the dumplings are made with vegetable oil. I am wondering, would the purpose of the oil be to bind, in which...
is the 'chicken' soy based too? I would say that perhaps your intake is rather high, variety is good!
Are there other readily available 'milks' you could buy? Oat milk is really delicious and many...
I'm like that too! Even if I wouldn't otherwise choose something, if it's somehting I thought would never find vegan then I feel obliged to buy it!
We have the membership card. basically whenever you buy stuff from the co op, you give them the card before the items are scanned and you earn points. Then at intervals you recieve vouchers. You can...
^I've had them, loved them, but they nearly blew the back of my throat off with their wasabi-ness.
Treated myself to some of this!
It's so creamy! Great on cereal, and makes a great white sauce, it doesn't form a skin like soya milk. Gonna try it in hot chocolate tonight.
By the way though,...
That reminds me when I emailed the co op about their value UHT soymilk.
It only said vegetarian on it, so I emailed and double checked and they said the label would be rectified at the next chance,...
I love baked apples! Served with lashings of custard :D
They're also great in homemade curries and like Harpy said, in stews / casseroles
Cauliflower sheese, it was the closest to the real thing I've ever eaten!

I can get the whitening one from my local co op, and it's fairly rural and not such a big one. That said though, it seems to have failed in whitening my teeth, and I've been using it for 2 months...
Yet the dried bacon bits are!:rollseyes_ani:
:confused::eek::dizzy:
Even health shops (the one's I've been to, anyway), do not have all the items I require for everyday living. It's just much simpler to be able to get everything in one job lot, and suppliment when...
I love Norwich for it's vegan options! The place you're talking about is the Pulse cafe, right? Next to rainbow wholefoods?
There's also an amazing vegan chinese/thai style buffet-take out. You fill...
My tesco's used to do blue dragon tofu for 99p a pack, then it went up to £1.20 a pack. Now it's gone altogether :(
I now bulk buy 6 for £8.00 from a local whole food shop.
I whole heartedly recommend the tesco's brand of fresh soymilk. I drink the unsweetened, but the sweetened is also very good. (and cheaper than Alpro :p)
^ I think flibble is referring to the discount card
