Because we shouldn't mess with our food like that... nobody knows the long term effects it will have. GMO genes already infected organic stuff in the USA.. once harmful side effects can be identified...

Are they using GMO corn though?
There was a documentary in the Netherlands on how biodegradable plastic made out of GMO corn is used to wrap organic fruits. Tbh I would prefer petroleum plastics...
