I agree. I looked it over at the library and was completely unimpressed. I did love Skinny Bitch, however. :)

I've made a few recipes from this book and they've all been very nice.
I found the photos in LDV kind of annoying. They are mostly of the author. If you are going to take the time to take photos for a cookbook, they should be of the food. I mean, really. GOV wasn't too...
I usually buy both - canned for convenience and dried for variety. Dried beans make such wonderful homemade soups, thick and stewy and delicious.
We have Marmite in Canada and it seems to be a love or hate thing. I use it as a seasoning in soups, gravy, seitan, etc., so a small jar lasts me quite a while.
I second Vegan Vittles! I have the old VV and the newer updated edition. I love them both! :)
Did the cookbook really say that a batter made with 3 1/2 cups of flour makes 12 cupcakes? Most recipes call for about 1 1/2-2 cups flour for 12 cupcakes/muffins. No wonder you had so many!

Neither do I!

I like the idea of the book ... I mean, honestly, who wouldn't want a book devoted to vegan baking? However, from all the reviews and posts that I've read, it doesn't seem like there is anything...
Um, huh? Nutritional yeast isn't salty.
I am looking at this recipe and she calls for 2 to 4 tablespoons of umeboshi vinegar and/or salt to taste ... meaning add a bit of salt if you...
Yes, you can freeze nut roasts. They defrost just fine!
At one time we did have Hostess cupcakes in Canada. I remember eating them when I was a kid. Haven't seen them in years, but I haven't really looked.
Currently, I have my eye on the carrot cake...
I was always under the assumption that D2 is vegan and D3 is animal [lanolin, more specifically]. I've yet to hear anything to the contrary.
Incredibly Delicious by Gentle World is a big vegan cookbook [over 500 recipes!] with lots of beautiful color photos of the recipes.
If you are at all interested in vegetarian cookbooks, I would...
