    Re: Vegan Edinburgh

I seem to have been out a lot to eat lately! Last night I was at the Buffalo Grill in Edinburgh. It wasn't my idea (last minute 'we need to eat' decision) and it was pretty horrifying watching...

    Re: Vegan Edinburgh

I went to al Borgo tonight, an Italian place in Juniper Green, Edinburgh. They were brilliant. It was no problem to adapt any of the vegetarian meals to vegan - loads of options and the staff...

    Re: Favorite vegan breakfast?

Overnight oats. :) A Kilner jar full of oats, oat milk, peanut butter, maple syrup and cocoa, left overnight in the fridge.

Or a bit of toast spread with peanut butter, a chopped banana and...

Re: What did you eat today? (15)

Today I tried Vegusto 'cheese' for the first time, in a sandwich. It wasn't bad. :D Later a hummus toastie with spinach and rocket. Then I made my son and his Dad a rice noodle dish with tahini,...

Have fun at Bann's...lovely food there! :)
  9. Re: Spaghetti Hoops no longer fortified

It's weird, isn't it? :D We have Co-operatives here in Edinburgh too, as well as Scotmid, but it's clear from the products that it's the same shop. Maybe they're phasing out the name.

Re: Advice to a 16 year old 'you'?

    1. Your parents are right. Your dreams of doing music and drama are worthless - you're not that good and even if you were it wouldn't matter. Suck it up and get a job on the tills in the...
  11. Re: Spaghetti Hoops no longer fortified

Scotmid is a supermarket in Scotland. They have a lot of vegan food, all clearly labeled, and their toiletries and household cleaning products are cruelty-free. I love them. :D
  12. Re: Spaghetti Hoops no longer fortified

Yeah, I eat the vegan ones out of Scotmid. :D

Re: Save Tullos Hill deer petition

I saw this the other day and signed it. It makes no sense whatsoever! Typical council.

    Re: Worthenshaws freedom ice cream

I like the chocolate version (and I really like that it's low calorie!), I'd buy it again. The strawberry and the vanilla versions were not so good.

I can't eat Swedish Glace because of the soya....

    Re: innocent veg pots ?

If they weren't so expensive I'd happily live off them. :D The small Tesco near where I live has 4 or 5 different kinds (all vegan) in their veggie section, and they are gorgeous.

Re: Totally bizarre or weird news stories thread

I think you're right. The death-threat email campaign has probably done a lot more harm than good.

He isn't as cruelty-free as he likes to think he is, though.
  21. Re: The wonders of sleep after becoming a vegan

I've noticed this too. :) I sleep better and feel more rested when I wake up. Before going vegan I used to wake up still tired.

Re: Totally bizarre or weird news stories thread

    How about this one?

A milliner who makes hats out of roadkill and bits of animals he buys at the butchers can't understand why he's being targeted by animal-rights activists. He is, after all, not...

Poll: Re: Going vegan - was it easy for you?

Going from omni to veggie was easy - when eating out somewhere there was usually an option, and when invited to dinner somewhere, the omnivores I know were surprisingly willing to use quorn instead...
