I've found it grates fine (but can't advise on how it works best on pizza).
Lunch was quite nice but it took over half an hour to come. I just checked the date on the photo and it was 16/9 so well before the new head chef.
We ate an evening meal there on Saturday which...
My friend who lives next door loves to bake and often adapts his recipes to be vegan so he can share them with me!
Coffee and walnut cake...
The Gentle Gourmet do great pastries too including mille feuille and an amazing lemon tart. (Once I tasted a bite of my dinner companion's tart I had to get one to take away!)...

The all vegan Gentle Gourmet was fabulous but I'm afraid I can't recall what all the dishes were.

Sadly Sweet Tooth Cupcakery in Chorlton is closing down on 23rd December.
In better news 1847 have recently opened a second restaurant (in Chorlton).
I meant to say he got them from H&B. (Can't edit my post.)
I bought one but have not tried it yet.
Celtic (who make the chocolate caramels) have a selection box reviewed here by Fat Gay Vegan.
I'm getting this message whenever I try to post, despite my original post being long enough:-
When I click to post something sometimes it also says this before the 'message is too short' page...

I had a delicious chocolate doughnut cupcake from NYCC on Friday but I'm having trouble...
I mentioned NYCC were selling cupcakes in post #585 above but didn't realise they only have them in on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That's a shame, they should have them every day.
They are very...
I don't think I've heard anything good about the Coach & Horses - what did you eat and what did you think of it?
L'Express Cafe in Brixton - I understand this is their second or third week but from looking at the opening days and hours perhaps the veggie chefs only take over the cafe when it is closed in the...
I thought it was great too and it certainly lasted ages without going mouldy. I tried their Edam style slices last week and was very impressed indeed.
Thanks also for letting us know they are on 3for2 in shops. The Lime Chilli was lovely, Rocky Road was disappointing, didn't taste of much in my opinion. I also have caramel but haven't tried it...
I haven't been to new veggie French place L'Express Cafe in Brixton yet (15-17 Market Row) but I hear they have vegan options and an all day vegan breakfast. Next time I go to Ms Cupcake I'll be...
Thanks for the info on roasts Troutina. Does the Earth & Stars have nut roast or something else?
Anyone tried the new falafel place on Sydney Street yet? I'm hearing good things about it.
I bought a few things from Redwood's seasonal range yesterday (gammon roast, duck & orange pate, stuffing balls, sausages in bacon, chicken tikka pieces, frozen sausage rolls).
I really wanted to...
They are good, my only gripe is the topping slips off - I have yet to get one home in one piece even though I have a special cupcake carrier. I haven't had this problem to the same extent with other...
And if the stew is not great I always find it improves if you blend it into soup! (Try to keep an eye on nutrition too and add sources of protein to soups and stews.)
I notice they use Alpro Professional in many coffee shops.
I found this reply from Alpro on this website.
You might want to look at the UK listing for the book Robinwomb recommends as it has more info including a list of the recipes. It has been scored badly by customers because it is very basic which...
You really do! It's on Pool Valley, where the coach stop is - not far from Terre A Terre in fact, just down that alleyway by the Fishbowl pub. They usually have at least four vegan sorbets at the...
Thanks very much for this link - I'm definitely going to try some of these!
Sadly Terre A Terre will be closed until the new year now.
Fabulous sorbets I have had from Boho Gelato recently include chocolate and coconut, pistachio and bakewell tart.
Last night we decided to try Sabai Thai because it has a vegetarian and vegan menu (giving options of vegetable, tofu or quorn which my veggie o/h likes). The food was good but on enquiring whether...
When I was a child and had a problem scalp my mum used to put olive oil in my hair overnight then comb out the crusty bits before washing it in the morning.
I know it is not quite the same...
Thanks for posting the list Risker. On the basis of that info I went for a family meal there at the weekend and could eat several things without adaption (they have the allergy list in each branch...
Oh dear yoyo, sorry you were disappointed. I did mention it a few posts above but I think it's been closed for quite a while. Infinity still sell their frozen meals so I assume they are still going...
As well as Scoop there is now Gelupo Gelateria to tempt us (7 Archer St, near Piccadilly Circus and near where the fancy new Wholefoods is). I tried 3 lovely creamy sorbet flavours - bitter...
They do harpy. They use cardboard box with a plastic lid which dries out the cakes though so I'd advise you to bring your own container or transfer the cake into tuppaware asap after purchase.
...
I take it you didn't try it yourself though? I would imagine how hard the crust is might depend how you cook it. I'm generally pretty impressed with what Redwoods do so I'll be giving it a try.
I haven't been to VBites for ages as it is totally out of my way now my friend has moved. If it was open in the evenings I'd probably venture over to give it another go.
I tried two new cakes in...
The Gate in Hammersmith is closed for refurbishment 19th May til early September but The Gate in Islington opens on !st June.

I agree with what harpy says. It's advertising the Vegan Pledge, quite effectively I think. If people are interested they will find links to more information, such as Making The Connection) on the...
Gelato certainly seems to be taking off recently! But as someone who can't live through winter without ice cream :o it seems very strange to me that someone who has never actually had vegan ice...
