As long as coffee wasn't consumed with the porridge a porridge explosion was probably avoided.
I have found that cooked food can attract rats to an open compost heap it probably depends where you live. We get moles burrowing up underneath ours to eat the worms and slugs!

My little girls have just read a book about a lady in Japan making little fried cakes decorated with maple leaves. Which of course were delicious...
Does anybody know if these cakes really exist...
In theory yes. The machines, the weights etc..are in place. But I'm being a lazy git.
Thank you Sunrise :-)
Steaming is a really good way to prepare them too. Vinaigrette and crusty bread are also my favourite additions.
I recommend the Pumpkin Crumb Cake with Pecan Strudel (page 255).
Sometimes I make cakes and everybody says that they are a bit odd and I end up having to finish them up myself but unfortunately...
Yeast extract with banana.
Hot lemon with molasses.
I'm definitely going to try ginger on porridge Scarlett, thanks for that :-)
I like them on toast, mashed raw with a bit of miso.
I also like to fry up some garlic and chilli in olive oil then mix with freshly cooked pasta and mashed avocado..Might do that now actually ;-)
This is apple country around here and you can get good cookers that are like Bramleys. I can't remember the name now. I'm thinking about planting a couple of apple trees which we will hopefully stay...
Thanks Puffin and Sandra you are both lovely too. The dad is conscious and coming to terms with everything. For now the Gmas are keeping the family going and Redwellies, you are right, the dad is...
Good to see you again Cobweb. I don't know anything about Ayurveda, it sounds interesting. Since reading 'Mindfulness in Plain English' by Hénépola Gunaratana I have been meditating every day, for a...

For those who have tried it, does it make a difference?
Yes, Cox's Orange Pippins :-)

Thanks for your good advice. Everybody is hoping so badly that the dad will pull through. My children can't believe that somebody young could die and the little boy knows what has happened but just...
When my children (aged 4 and 5) went back to school on Monday we learnt that the parents of one of the little boys at school had been in a head on collision on the road we take to go to school. His...
Rebecca, I ground up flax seeds and this might have been part of the problem..or maybe I didn't reduce the wine enough or was just heavy handed with it. I ended up having to put in more flour in...
Thanks Chocolate,
I'm going to try them tonight.
Does anybody have a recipe for vegan butterscotch? I just can't stop thinking about how nice a butterscotch pudding would be today and I haven't been able to find a thing. Does anybody have a good...

I just bought a book by Kippy Nigh who has a restaurant and bakers in San Cristobal de las Casas. She is a strict vegetarian and her recipes are often vegan. I haven't read the book yet but it...
Customs do some checks on cars and I have had my bags rummaged through when I was regularly travelling between Dover and Calais.
Hi Rami,
Good to see you.
You could probably use some of the water that you cooked the beans or just a bit more lime juice.
Nuts are a good source of calcium so are soybeans, tahini and black strap molasses.
I love the smoked paprika too.
Oh no Vava..How disappointing for you. What did you eat instead?
Last Valentine's night I made a thing from VWaV with pancakes with tamarind sauce etc..which was the only thing I didn't like from...
