Recipe for vegan cream cheese?

I can't get Tofutti or any of these brands that keep getting mentioned on the forum, and I prefer making things from scratch anyway. So I was wondering if anyone had a good recipe to share for a cream cheese substitute? I have the recipe in "vegan" by Tony Weston et al. and it's OK, but not brilliant. Any other suggestions welcome!

There is a cookbook a lot of people here mention called, The UnCheese Cookbook - I think it may be american though, so I am not sure how you feel about cookbooks with standard measurements...

I've also been trying to find a good vegan cream cheese recipe - I tried the almond-based cream cheese recipe from the uncheese cookbook mentioned above, and I don't recommend it! The mixture came out with decent flavor, but it had the texture of pond slime

There are a couple of other (soy based) cream cheese recipes in that book that I look forward to trying.

I prefer to just use soy for things like fake cream cheese and protein substitutes. nuts and seeds get soo heavy after a while.
