I like to slice it very thinly and fry it in a little coconut oil. Then I sprinkle it with a little salt or one of those spice mixes for beef or chicken or something like that. Or I pour a little soya sauce on them while they are still in the pan and toss them well until they are covered with sauce. A teaspoon of curry paste and a splash of soya milk makes a nice creamy curry sauce. Sometimes I dice the tofu, sometimes I slice it.

Marinated in soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, a little ginger and some red pepper flakes, then baked until brown and chewy. Good in sandwiches, stir-fry, or just plain . I also love me some tofu cheesecake, MMmmMMmm...

I bought some Cauldron Tofu the other day.

Proper firm Tofu for a change and it came in a sealed bag. I snipped a corner off and squeezed the water out. Perfect.

Interesting to read that people bake it. I've never thought of doing that. Just the excuse I need to buy some more.

I broil mine for 20 minutes, but I like it a little crispy.

I like to bake mine for like an hour and a half at a low temperature. It gives it a great texture!

I cut tofu into cubes and then cover with mixture of: crunchy peanut butter/soy sauce/argave nectar and bake in the oven for 20mins or so.

So far I like the egg salad sandwich thing where you mash the tofu with a fork, add vegannaise, chopped celery and green onion, salt and pepper.
    I love that.

I have just made some, it was lovely and simple . I dried it a bit, cut it in half length-wise through the middle of the block, shoved it in an oven dish, slopped soy sauce over it and smeared it with smooth peanut butter, then baked it for 15 minutes .
    Sounds gorgeous.

The best tofu I've ever eaten was 'Salt and Pepper Tofu' from a Chinese near me. It's tofu tossed in salt, pepper and spices and then deep fried. I've never found a recipe that comes close to the way they do it at this restaurant though.
I love salt and pepper tofu too.

Cut into triangles, coated in corn flour (cornstarch), and fried (usually in copious amounts of peanut oil). Not healthy, but delicious! (Though I usually eat it in a dish with carrots, green beans, and cashews, so it's not that unhealthy.)
That is what I'm having tomorrow.

Thank goodness I have 3 blocks of tofu in my fridge right now.

    Hi there everyone,

I have been a vegan for a few years now but I have trouble with tofu. The best way I have ever eaten it is from a Thai restaurant in one of their sauces. My all time fave sauce is satay sauce. I have tried to make it over and over again with peanut butter, ginger, soy sauce etc but it isn't all that nice. So my questions are - does anyone know how to make tofu how the Thais make it and also does anyone have a good recipe for satay sauce?

    Thanks very much.....

    AG

Press a block wrapped in kitchen roll underneath something heavy for half hour or so, marinate in lime, soy, chilli, ginger, garlic and pepper and then slice thinly and fry, so good and can put it in anything!

As for the Satay, I use peanut butter, soy and lime juice, with finely chopped birds eye chilli and onions, fried together with water until you get your desired texture

This is my favorite tofu recipe. It's prepared like chicken strips, or chicken fingers, and you freeze and thaw it out beforehand to get that awesome texture. Yum!

I also love tofu in stir-fries with mushrooms, cashews, bok choy...
