Hello mrkate, you could try the 101 Greek/Middle Eastern Recipes from the International Vegetarian Union (IVU), though some may be veggie not vegan.

This is a restaurant that has some vegan dishes - all Persian (Iranian). It's in Tarzana, CA - wherever that is http://www.vegparadise.com/dining55.html

This is probably not very helpful at all...but today I bought Iranian semi dried figs. I hate normal figs!

Try a search on Google for "iranian recipes" ... the results will contain lots of meat and dairy products so exchange these for non-meat and non-dairy options.

This looks like a Persian version of Bombay Potatoes - http://lloyd2.home.mindspring.com/ir2.htm

How about a nice savoury rice (polow) and/or couscous with spices, veggies, dates (in lots of Persian/Iranian dishes) and some veggie mince, make the potato dish from the above link, a salad (add some tender spinach leaves for a touch of authenticity), some falafel - don't make them too big and then put several falafel on a wooden kebab skewer and serve with a mint and garlic soya yoghurt sauce, hoummus with strips of pitta bread. There's also a nice recipe for stuffed aubergines called Imam Bayildi - here's a typical recipe for this dish: http://www.yumyums.org/arab/arab21.html

For a dessert ... if you can find some nice fresh dates then this sounds nice: http://persia.org/Recipes/rangeenak.html
or perhaps this rice pudding: http://www.internetserver.com/isc/co...hole_zard.html

Hope this helps. Enjoy your meal.
