GM cotton research in Western Australia continues despite focus shifting to Qld.
A group behind trials of gm crops in the Kimberley (WA) for over a decade says the cotton industry is shifting its focus to north Queensland.
Well as a Queenslander, thanks for that! Here we are suffering the worst drought on record, and yet they want to bring commercial gm cotton here. We already have cotton growing, a very thirsty crop, but those concerned say that Queensland does not have a GM crop moratorium, and as we already have a very successful GM cotton industry, there will be a lot of attention on research in newer areas in north Queensland over the next few years.
