What are your favourite sweets?
I've just had an email back from Matlows who make swizzels etc and their rainbow drops are vegan yay!

I'm trying not to eat too many sweets these days, but it's not really working
recently I have been scoffing:
Hotel Chocolat Turkish Delight
Fox's glacier fruits
Sainsbury's after dinner mints
Hotel Chocolat kirsh soaked chocolate covered cherries.
Hotel Chocolat Gianduja (chocolate hazelnut)
Kendal Mint Cake
Julian Graves travel sweets (they do about 6 different types marked vegan - the fruits of the forest flavour are the best so far)
Uncle Joe's mint balls
Organica chocolate (either the couverture "milk" chocolate bar or the dark with hazelnuts)
Probably more...
I love Goldenberg's Peanut Chews.
I also love the boxes of vegan Dorchester chocolates you can get from Animal Aid and Dr Hadwen trust.
i really like cookies not really into sweets all that much.
I'm addicted to Lindt dark chocolate. The 70% is too sweet for me, but I love the 85% and especially the 99% - pure chocolate bliss.

I used to love Tropical Source chocolate bars. They weren't bitter like other vegan dark chocolate. I can't find them anywhere!
I really like candy covered almonds, Fuzzy Peaches, Nerds, Dots, and non-sugarfree gums.
In terms of desserts, I like all cookies, cakes, baklava, halva, puddings, ice creams...oh my, I could go on for ages.
Peace, love, and happiness.
It was my birthday yesterday, and as a pressie my wife bought loads of naughty but nice stuff from the veganstore .... Liquorice Allsorts, Jelly Beans, Jelly Babies and fudge. It was just like going back to my pre vegan days. I can particularly recommend the Liquorice Allsorts.
(I'm going to have to start the diet tomorrow.)
Swedish fish
oreos
chocolate
dried pineapple
Green & Blacks Chocolate
Asda Lollipops & Blackcurrant drops when I get an order from there.

I think they went out of business and got replaced with Endangered Species chocolate...which isn't as tasty, IMO.
Peace, love, and happiness.
.
If I find some I'll try it, as that is what is hitting me most, the loss of milk chocolate!
Try this, Earthmother.
Little Nell, I have tried various Plamil chocolate but I don't like it all that much. The ones I have tasted don't taste anything like milk chocolate (sorry, Plamil!). The choc in the link above is much better, in my opinion.

Local health food shops should be able to order that chocolate in for you.
i'm not a fan of Plamil chocolate either - i want to like it as they're a good company but it's just not very nice IMHO
i also like the liquorice allsorts from Veganstore. i see they've started doing dolly mixtures and strawberry milkshakes which i'll have to buy soon i think.

Yum, i havent been on the veganstore for a while, trying to cut down on eating choc and sweets
I think i will order some for the kids for christmas though
I want to try those rice milk chocolates. A non-vegan candy and chocolate blogger gave a review on them. She (he?) said they were quite tasty. I guess if a milk chocolate loving omni can like rice milk chocolates, it must be good.
Stores around here don't carry it and shopping online isn't really an option for me (no credit cards, my mom's anti-online shopping, and most do not accept Paypal).
Peace, love, and happiness.
vegan choc. chip scones
sorbet (any kind of berry/mango etc)
chocolate cake w. PB frosting
lemon coconut cake
no bake chocolate oatmeal soynut butter cookies
chocolate covered almonds
banana bread/banana nut muffins
ricemellow fluff
brownie batter w. banana

Oh, and I forgot to say that I LOVE liquorice - not the sugary, liquorice-flavoured stuff though, but pure 100% liquorice, made only from the juice from the roots cooked for many hours. It's made by a small Italian company called Amarelli, and it's simply amazing!

VEGAN FIZZY COLA BOTTLES!!!
OMG!
SWEETGASM!!!
Dammit!! Is anyone else having problems getting stuff to go in the shopping basket at veganstore?? All day I've been trying and it just won't work....and I soooo want to try the Organica white chocolate (and buy some more 'milk' chocolate )
*sighs* or maybe it's just the universe conspiring against me to stop me having chocolate!!!
I've just shopped ok, if you click on add to basket the page dosen't change but it has added it. Try clicking on the top of the page where it says basket and have a look to see if your products are there.
I've just ordered some fudge and the milk chocolate taste alike, plus some of the vegan squirty cream and stuff.
me tooooooo
yummiliscious!
I've just eaten some of these! And some fizzy cola bottles. Both from Vegan Store. Both are just like I remembered! I can feel my teeth rotting!!
This thread might be of interest to sweet lovers.

i'm hoping Veganstore will take enough dolly mixtures etc. to the Christmas Without Cruely fayre. they always seem to sell out of sweets. i resent having to pay postage when they're only based a few minutes away from where i live!

I feel the same way Gorilla! When I want shoes I think 'why can't I just pop down and try them on to make sure they are comfy?"!
I don't really understand why Vegan Store always run out of things early on, especially sweets and popular shoe sizes - why don't they just bring more? Some things they don't bring at all.
At the last few fairs I've been there early simply to try to get stuff before it goes but found the cupboard bare already. It's very frustrating - I especially dislike buying shoes without having tried them on and that is one of the main reasons I go to the fairs, only to find they don't have a 5 there and I would have to mail order anyway. Apart from anything else it doesn't seem like great business sense!
Caramel corn
Walnut brownies
Runts
Bottlecaps

I loooove jellybeans, they're my weakness. I really like the jelly belly lots of flavor ones
i didn't think Jelly Belly were vegan
'The word gorilla was derived from the Greek word Gorillai (a "tribe of hairy women")'
I also used to love Jelly Beans...just did a little research and found out that Jelly Belly does not use gelatin, but beeswax for the coating So it's vegetarian, but not vegan.
I was a real jelly addict once but don't like the vegan substitutes at all as they are too sticky for my taste.
What I love:
halva
bittersweet chocolate filled with raspberry cream
bittersweet chocolate with orange zest

Actually, you can find some vegan jelly beans. I have seen some in the stores. A lot of the cheaper brands use another (artificial) wax. I don't like them, so I never bought them.
Peace, love, and happiness.
I've heard of vegan jelly beans but no chance to get them here...the only brand available in Germany is Jelly Belly and those only in bigger cities.
Need to speak more globally, I guess.

In the UK Vegan Store do jelly beans. http://www.veganstore.co.uk/jelly_bean.html
I just discovered 'Cherry Nirvana' soy ice cream by Turtle Mountain and it delivers. I tried their peanut butter zig zag recently also thanks to a bunch of thumbs up it got on this board, it was great except I can't find it in organic. The Cherry Nirvana is organic. I'm going to market today and it's at the top of my list.

i bought some of the Veganstore dolly mixtures at the Christmas Without Cruelty fayre, luckily they took enough with them! i ate most of them on the train home they're really nice, just how i remember them. i also got some strawberry milkshakes and jelly peaches which i can't wait to try.
i also bought some marshmallow meltaways from them, which i was really disappointed with. they cost £5.99 for a small plastic box of what looked like chocolate marshmallows but they melted on the journey home and were just like eating really sticky raw cake mixture. definitely not worth the money IMHO

The cocnut ice from the Animal Aid stall is fabulous!
omg Easy Cheeze Danish in the uncheese cookbook is amazing! Drool!
That sounds yummy!!!
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
It is sooooo good! Very easy too! It's just
1/2 lb tofu mashed
1/4thcup maplessyrup,
1Tblsp lemonjuice,1/2tsp cinnamon,1/2tspvanilla,1/4tspnsalt
All Ingredients mixed thoroughly and topped onto 4 slices bread and broiled for 5-10 minutes(maybe more) just until golden brown.
Yummy! The Uncheese Cookbook is the best cookbook! I definitely recommend it!
Will try that out. Thanks !

I just made a vegan chocolate cake with vegan fudge frosting. The cake was an organic cakemix calling for milk and eggs. I used soy milk for the milk, and garbonzo/fava flour and water for the eggs in the cake. It was so amazing. I made the frosting with organic powdered sugar mixed with Earth balance vegan margarine and a touch of soymilk, vanilla and as much organic cocoa powder to your taste, just sprinkle soymilk or more margarine if it gets too dry.
