Criminology Animal Cruelty Project

I'm in a Criminology class at my college and I'm in charge of burning a disc with footage from the P.E.T.A website to show some of their videos. The problem is I don't want to show 5 minutes of one video because we only have 10 minutes of video time.

Does anyone know of a program that is already on your computer or you cn install from the internet where you can edit shorten the video and add in bits and pieces from other videos...also edit in a song playing in the background.

I want to show a video of everything...pigs, cows, chickens, fur farm, cosmetic testing

Windows movie maker. It comes with windows xp.
