Default Recomendations needed for easy, "down home" style vegan cook book

    Hello all,

I am so excited!! After spending a week with them over Christmas, my
brother and sister in law want to try going vegan!! I've been a raw
foodist for a number of years (still vegan!) and am therefore out of
the loop about the latest and greatest vegan cook books on the market.
(older book recommendations welcome as well).

We are from the south (Texas and Mississippi), so I am looking for a
book that features a lot of familiar, American, "down home" type
recipes that don't have a lot of exotic ingredients. They are also
students on a budget, so anything featuring cheaper and easier recipes
would be great as well. They only have access to one smaller health
food store and it is somewhat far away from them, so they would be
shopping mostly at regular grocery stores.
Thanks in advance for the help!

    All the best, Audrey

I guess you're not around anymore Well, if you ever stop by again (or anyone else is interested), I just got Ann Jackson's "Cookin' Southern Vegetarian Style." It isn't completely vegan, but most of the recipes are (or can be easily made so). I haven't made any of the dishes yet, but they all look pretty easy and tasty.

I second Vegan Vittles! I have the old VV and the newer updated edition. I love them both!
