Thanks for that link Kevster. I often go to the Independent, but not every day, and it is easy to miss something!

It's interesting (and somewhat scary) to know how thin the layer we call the 'atmosphere' is. The ozone layer (located in the stratosphere, which I used to believe was something far away) is so close to the surface of the earth that we could go there in less than 15 minutes if travelling in only 100 km (62 miles) pr. hour.

    Oh dear.

Well isn't this just good news...

I swear, this world is depressing.

That link won't work for me so I haven't read the article. But surely this is something we are affecting? And something to counter the arguement so many people are making recently that there is no point in us in the UK doing anything unless China, US etc do something as we are such a small country?

When looking for this article or another on this issue (strange that I couldn't find any) I came across this one which was interesting - about the hot environmental concern topics from previous years with an update on how things are now. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6449059.stm

Okay, this article is two years old. I'm confused.

Ah, just noticed the original post is also 2 years old. No update on this and I couldn't find anything in the news on a search, so presumably they found nothing of major concern?
