Default Any thoughts on this brand 'Cauldron?

    Hi there,
I'm about to order some vegan stuff from a British shop nearby, and when I was studying their order list, I noticed that many vegetarian products are from a brand named 'Cauld'. Perhaps this is an abbreviation, I don't know. Anyhow, since I can't find anything on the Internet about this brand, I was wondering whether anyone of you can tell me more about 'Cauld'. Available products are vegetarian burgers, sausages, pates etcetera.

    Could it have been Cauldron?

If so not all their stuff is Vegan, but what they do have is good and a bit different from the fake meat style stuff.

Yep, I just checked their website. Thank you so much! Now I can check out what I'd like to order.

The Carrot, peanut and onion burgers are probably my favourite of any Vegan burger. Sadly my local shops don't carry the other Vegan burgers

Before I went vegan I used to love the lincolnshire sausages, but they have egg in them

I've emailed and asked them if they make them without egg but the response was they're not planning on it.

Maybe if you guys ask too?

Also, the Waitrose falafels are really nice - they're made by cauldron. The waitrose ones are vegan. The cauldron ones never used to be, but now are (the standard one without cheese in that is). So they're slowly getting more vegan products. A bit of pressure might help.

If you email them, they'll also send you a list of what shops they supply with what products. Waitrose do carrot and peanut (which is great), sainsburys don't - but they do other stuff that some shops don't.

If anyone wants this list (it's not exhaustive, more just a list of major suppliers rather than individual shops) - p.m. me and I'll mail you it.

Mmm the cauldron falafels are really yummy!
They're teeny weeny and great with loads of things.

Hi Troutina, I've seen these in shops but didn't know whether to get them or not, are they very spicy?

    Hey Sandra,

No the Cauldron falafels are not spicy/hot at all. I don't eat anything spicy - brown sauce is as spicy as I get! They are really handy and very tasty as others have mentioned. Great smooshed up as a sandwich filling.

    Hope this helps,

    Veryblue2
