I was quite suprised; it was DELICIOUS!!

I only recently tried those, and was very impressed too. Think I had the berry one. Will look out for the cocoa. Quite expensive tho.
i didnt like my bar much - pretty much like all the other fruit/nut bars around
Boots in Brighton sell them, but you might not want to shop in Boots... they cost 1.35 in there too
i thought they were nice at first but they're too sweet. that's one of the things that puts me off raw food, everything's so sweet, even the vegetables

hi guys,
i've just eaten this AMAZING raw food bar! they're new by some group called 'Naked' - they do a cocoa one and a berry one. i had the cocoa one which was SUBLIME...it tasted like cadburys fruit and nut used to! if you see them, i recommend them...they're totally raw and completely vegan. happy veganising, tri

god I love these bars!!! I don't find them too sweet...maybe the berry one is a bit but I love them anyway...think berry is my fave but cocoa is also really nice, havent had the apple one that much. Had a funny experience with these actually a few months back...was walking along eating the cocoa one and this drunk guy comes up to me and asks me if he can try some of what i'm eating! i told him he probably wouldnt like it cos well he might have been expecting it to be a chocolate bar or something but anyway he liked it! lol random pointless story.

They're less than a pound in Sainsburys too.
The Trek bars by the same company are similar but slightly less sweet in my opinion. I tend to prefer them. They're not raw, though.
Both sorts are great to have in your pocket for any time you need a healthy energy boost. I usually have some knocking about the place.
Me too.

What heart-rendering disappointment... I was thinking I I'd stumbled across a thread promoting a bar where vegans can socialise and drink in the nude.
Oh well. Next time I'm in Tescos I shall shell out my 88p... these nutty items of confectionery will however be tainted with the bitter taste of disillusion.
lol...you could always set up such a thread...I'm sure there's plenty of people on here who'd be interested

Me too Veganavenger!!!! Orange-powered....do you think that York is the place to start up a place like this? It's definitely a bit nippy here, especially if you have to sit by the door..LOL
hahaha...not really sure York is the best place, firstly its freezing up here as well!! also its quite a small city full of middle class well to do people who might not really like the idea very much. Then again, there's also a fairly large student population (which I'm part of), who are probably more open minded about such things?

One of the things about these "treats" is beyond my comprehension:
How come they claim to be "raw" and the sell by date is 02-2008? O_o
Surely if it's raw it should go off in a week or so, shouldnt it?
I don't think so - dried fruit keeps for ages, but it's technically counted "raw" because it hasn't been heated, I think. Also, the sugar content is high, which is a natural preservative, and they're all aeseptically sealed as well.
I really like the apple version of the Nakd bar, and the peanut butter Trek.
i was watching ray mears wild food the other day (i like the veggies he cooked, had to grimmace at the dead animal parts, fortunately they werent too many, but i digress...) and he collected hawthorn berries, juiced them and let the mush set in a bowl. it then gets dried out in sunlight and cut into slices. he pulled some out his pocket and said it was 3 years old, still tasted good, and proceeded to eat some. not the finest example, but it shows you don't need loads of preservatives to make long term snacks

I quite like the cherry and apple pie ones but found the cocoa one absolutely disgusting.
I wonder how many calories they contain? They seem really filling to me and I could never eat more than one in a sitting (and that's saying something!)
the bery ones are 337 calories per 100 grams. i dont know how big the bars are. http://www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk/PRODUCTS_NAKD.html i havent tried any yet, only seen them in the camping stores in hull. i guess they are a better snack then chocolate, choccies never fill me up...just make me sick :S

i love the apple ones, they're so nice!!
TY mooli magic! that's most handy to know
98p in my local *spit spit* tesco?!
i got all three..not the banana one? didn't see that.. haven't been able to tackle an entire bar as yet cos they seem quite dense and sweet..and generally i can eat for britain.
nice though
They are 99p in my local wholefood shop, it has taken some training but i can now happily eat a whole bar in one go.
Nákd bars are half price in Millets at the moment: 60p! I bought a few as I'm going travelling on Sat and thought they might be good for the journey/when I get there and I'm starving and confused. Yet to try one though...
I have Coco Loco and Apple Pie. The names make me convinced they are yum :P
I ate one today - I thought it was a bit like any other bar of that type I've ever eaten - I was most disapointed.
Silent but deadly :p
I love these! Especially the coco one Unfortunately seems like I'm being ripped off by my local Holland & Barratts though, that's the only place I've seen them around here...
"Born on the same planet, Covered by the same skies..."
They are quite expensive in H&Bs, i think 1.09.
Tesco do them for 89p. I am pretty bored with them now so dont buy them.
Havent seen the banana one though, i might start buying them again if i can get my hands on some of those.
that cocoa one takes EFFORT to eat a full one... i slice mine up and tease my friends at work with them..tiny tastes i think make you want more ..maybe..if i stuffed the full bar in i think i'd find it quite hard work.
lazy jaw perhaps

Mmm I ate the cocoa one today.
I dont really like the other ones, the cocoa one is just so different.
And lovely!
MMM!!!
Wish I'd bought more now..
I think I might need to do some shopping tomorrow..
Maybe you'd prefer Trek bars?

I didn't like them. Thank goodness really, i'm not actually allowed them because of the oats.

Does anyone know if there are any bars similar to nakd and trek, but cheaper? i've found them online (www.trekbaruk.com), and for a mixed case of 36 of the smaller versions of the normal bars, it's 22. I love them for breakfast, but i just don't know if i can afford to spend that much on food, it seems crazy!!
try making your own? [/unhelpful]
genius!!! the only thing i'm concerned about is how to get them to stick together. i guess agave nectar would work, but then it would be too sweet maybe the dates are enough to keep it together?
yeah - soak them first in apple juice.
Ooh this thread just caught my eye cus I tried my first nakd bar today :]. Bought it from H&B while I was out and about. It was one of the Apple Pie ones but was a smaller size - 30g - so it was a good little snack. I was v impressed... I thought it was yummy .
I have to add, I love the cocoa loco bars, they're gorgeous. They annoy me how pricey they are seeing as they're RRP is about 33p.
so i think i'm gonna give this 'make your own energy bars' thing a go. where do you think i should start? i've checked out the packets of nakd bars, and the ingredients seem to consist mainly of dates, oats, various nuts, raisins and then your flavour. do you think anything needs soaking first before i whizz it up in the blender?
I looove Nakd bars. Eat way too many of them. They're 44p though I think, for the smaller ones in Morrisons so not too bad!
well i tried. i used dates, sultanas, sunflower seeds, hazelnuts, apple juice, mixed berries and oats. i got the taste quite similar, but the texture was awful. i had to eat it with a spoon
i made these and thought they were yummy!

wow. i read that as 9 quid. that really would be one expensive bar
though they aren't naked bars..ootw often have the cocoa trek nars..i think..each time i've been in they're like half price...so something like 48p or something. i like em better than the naked ones i do.
