Where are you getting your from Kevster?

Just let me know what time you are coming so I can make sure that I clean the tub before then.

*gets down the health store in leeds early and wipes the place clean*
well i wouldn't pay that much for anything in a tub!
How about for a tub full of £50 notes? *Is pedantic*.
ok i might make an exception for a tub of £50 notes
I've been complaining to GD about that. I bought some stuff from another supplier that came in an apparently identical box to the ones that GD use, and they supplied a label to send the box back so that they could re-use it. I wouldn't mind paying myself to send it back but they wouldn't have it.
Maybe if some more of us complain to GD they will have a rethink.
that's one of the reasons why i've never bought anything from Goodness Direct. it seems very wasteful to me, but luckily i can buy a lot of decent vegan foods in Brighton so i don't really need to use them.
i can't help thinking that after all this, the Booja Booja ice cream will be a bit of a disappointment.
It's only the chilled or frozen stuff that comes in the polystyrene boxes; groceries seem to come in ordinary cardboard boxes. But I can see that living in Brighton you don't need to bother with them, Gorilla
At 5 pounds a tub, it better not dissapoint! I managed to convince our local health food store to order it in for us. Can't wait til Tuesday!!

wow its that much?! yea I want to try it...but that seems a bit expensive...
"On the dance-floor I am a world class freak... Its the beat"
After reading about it on this forum, I went on a hunt for Booja Booja's "stuff in a tub" the other day, fully prepared to pay the hefty £5 price tag - I was not disappointed. I wanted to make it last a while cos it was so damn expensive, but it didn't quite last 24 hours between me and my better half.
Ah well, that's another one to add to my "occasional treat" list, along with Biona vegan cola bottles.
Oooh, lucky you, bryzee. Which flavour of "stuff in a tub" did you try?
bryzee86 - what do you think it tastes like eg: real ice cream, haagen daaz etc? (I want to know the taste before I waste my hard earned £5 )
Enchantress, I tried the hunky punky chocolate flavour - yum yum! And I felt so guiltless - it being sugar free/soya free/organic etc
Aphrodite - it tasted, in my own words, like "frozen truffles"! It was like they'd shoved their truffles in the tub, made all smooth, frozen and stuff. I don't know whether it tasted like the others, cos it's been 2 1/2 years since I last had dairy. However, I can say it was 10 times better than Swedish Glace chocolate, and 100s of times better than the (imho) frankly vile Tofutti varieties.

sorry...
Where abouts in england are you? are there no health food shops you can order it in to? Treat yourself! it may be dear, but it's worth it!
bryzee86 - you certainly convinced me with that description.
Now just have to find a stockist near me.
good luck!
I've asked my local to get it in

I happened upon some after a job interview a couple hours ago. Obviously can;t afford it, but being after a job interview, found an excuse hehe. I bought the chocolately one and it is GOOD!! I wondered how they would justify a fiver but it is really luxurious tasting, kinda rich but dark chocolately so not too rich. um I don't know how to explain it but I liked it. I asked the man in the shop whether he had tried it: he said that he had tried the coconut one, and a customer had tried the ginger one, and both reviews were that they were really 'gingery/coconutty' I agree... it's like flavoured times 100. I'm hoping this will mean I won't eat so much at once and it will last. However, if I get this job, I suspect the first thing I bu will be one of each flavour :P
Fresh & Wild in Bristol should have it in by next Friday. Harvest are looking into it, Earthbound may well stock it, and Wild Oats will probably sell it also, I'm led to believe.
Our local health food store had a dodgy delivery - they missed out the Stuff in a Tub!!

Am I going to be the only dissenter? Yes, it was luxurious, yes it was undoubtedly VERY chocolatey... but it's not really sweet enough for me... arghhh.... sorry. It's rather expensive, so I am going to work on it and try to really like it! Think I will try the others too - my local HFS has the vanilla and the coconut....

Leeds OOTW has some in stock, i saw some there but didn't try it.
I just saw it in town today I walked right past it in OOTW until Kiran waved it at me! Apparently they've had it in for 2 weeks!!!!
I've just finished about 2/3 of a tub of the Hunky Punky Chocolate one. It's extremely rich and chocolatey - it definately reminds me of the Hagendaas chocolate icecream I used to love back in my pre-vegan days... That's good But, at £5 a tub I don't really think it's worth it. I don't think even Haagendaas is that expensive! And I was kind of expecting chunky bits in there, not just plain chocolate.
And why is that the healthier a product is and the less ingredients it has in it, the more we get ripped off for it!! The chocolate one comprises of just water, agave, nuts and cocao powder - simple. Now I just need to work out the ratios so I can have a go at making it myself!!
[Be warned - The more you eat, the more you want to eat. It is extremely moreish]

This is so annoying id love to try this but im told its got cashew nuts in and im very intollerant to them
I wouldn't worry. All of boojabooja's other products are massively overpriced and not even worth it when half price. We'll probably try this at some point, but I'm not going to make an effort to find it.

I think it is based on cashews and is similar to the recipes in the Vice Cream book (so you will probably find similar recipes in there RJ).
I had the chocolate one yesterday, there was only one tub left in Planet Organic. I would have prefered another flavour but reckon the chocolate might be harder to get as it will probably sell out most often.
I would describe it as like a really dark and rich chocolate mousse which has been slightly frozen. But it was not very icecream-y. It was very cold and obviously was frozen but somehow it didn't really melt in the mouth like normal icecream, it is a different texture.
I'm not sure I would buy this one regularly but I'm hoping I'll prefer one of the other flavours (and that I can get it within reasonable distance to get it home). Some cost £5.49.

The coconut ice cream is good, and tastes familiar. Can't say I'll buy it very often at all though at £5.
i cannot get over the price - how can that be justifiable for a tiny container? - who wants it at that price? daylight robbery!
What shops sell it? The main ones?

It actually states on the tub "never sold in supermarkets". Our local health food shops are ordering it in. Although Holland & Barrett don't seem to have heard of it
Witchy, are you anywhere near Nottingham? I think there's an Out Of This World health food shop in Notts, like there is in Leeds. They should sell it. Otherwise I suggest you try asking your local store to order it in - that's what we've done and they promised they'll get some.

Fresh&Wild Bristol have all flavours now
I'm just starting on the coconut one (I'll work my way through the rest no doubt)
Basically, it's veeerry coconutty! I imagine you'd get similar results by shoving some raw coconut in a blender and freezing it down. Nice, but not really exceptional, certainly not for the shocking price
I bought some of this in Fresh and Wild at Clapham Junction yesterday, put it in the freezer and then forgot to try it I must be losing the plot.
OMG, Harpy are you ill??? Kevster didn't buy some when he had the chance....the world is going mad!!

I know! If you can't rely on being obsessed with food, what can you rely on?
no, they're much smaller
Same size as Ben & Jerrys I think, about the size of a small Starbucks coffee cup, maybe a bit shorter
I thought the price might be down to using coconut oil or something like that - they use that as the solid fat in the truffles. But nope it's more likely the reverse osmosis water - which is expensive and unnecessary. Plain mineral or spring water would do!
"Danger" could be my middle name … but it's "John"
And the cashews.
The tubs are the same size as Ben & Jerrys etc. (Not as small as a coffee cup though - that would be extortionate!)

I tried mine (pecan) at lunchtime and I quite liked it but found it rather substantial - dense and quite sweet - so I think a little will go a long way, which may make the price seem more acceptable.
Has anyone tried more than one variety?
Is there one that's nicer than others? I'm in two minds about trying another flavour one day
Oh my goodness... I just cant wait to get this in my mouth. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. at last.
If i keep a green bough in my heart my singing bird will come.
I wouldn't mind trying the chocolate one since that's sort of their speciality, only I prefer fair trade chocolate and I'm not sure theirs is?
