I've heard that this is possible... I'm nowhere near raw (yet??) and I'm not in a position to buy a dehydrator but I really want to try all of these recipes that I've been seeing! Is it possible? Someone enlighten me!

your fridge is an effective dyhydrator: see what happens when food isn't covered! try a few slices of fruit on something absorbent overnight (pat cut surfaces dry first)
the oven is trickier unless it's got convection. Just fan after preheating might do it.

Ah, cool! So when a recipe says to leave in a dehydrator for 10 hours, I can literally do the same in my fridge?
worth a try with small quantity. hope fridge doesn't smell of curry.... mine does

I'm going to try to try (: that raw pizza recipe that's around here! Wish me luck..
I've dried tomatoes in a gas oven before, just put it on the lowest heat setting and put them on a tray on the bottom shelf.
Worked perfectly, seemed like a huge waste of gas though so won't be doing it again unless I can do it at the same time as something that happens to take a long time to cook.

Right on, you reminded me that I've seen recipes (I love http://recipezaar.com) for "Oven Dried Tomatoes".. You're all giving me hope. (:
