I never even heard of him before, so I did a search and found I share a birthday with him (oh no!)--and Fidel Castro, if you must know.

In all seriousness he was in a lot of pain for a decent proportion of his life. I watched a documentary about him a few years ago and it seemed to have mellowed him out a bit now that he wasn't in a position of priveledge. He didn't apolagise, but you could tell his spirit had taken a blow.He lived until he was 76 - and he was grossly obese all his life

People often say about being healther as a Vegan, that there's no point because we need to die someday.
Manning was walking proof that it's better to die healthy.

When I heard this I just had my usual reaction of thinking to myself 'Oh I thought I heard he had he died already, I'm sure I heard he was dead 5 years ago etc..'
Bernard Manning was an instant TV switch over/off type of person for me like Roy Chubby Brown and Jim Davidson.
