    Astonishing!

I was just watching an episode of Nova on PBS tonight that talked about how all the research concerning Neanderthals has ben heavily influenced by the respective archeologists personal beliefs and upbringing. There was a strong implication that every conclusion reached to date is likely invalid. Some of the archeologists have now started considering that the Neanderthal was very much a species that adapted to use whatever was available locally, rather than going farther afield to find specific things that he may not have needed.
All in all, almost as cool as the article you posted!
