Yes please from me too Aradia! Those bakewells looks delish

well as usual my photography is less than brilliant but this was LOVELY!!. I call it 'Creamy Lentils'. All I did was bring them to the boil with a bit of bouillon, sugar and mustard added, then drained off some of the water, added Alpro soy cream, and bunged it in the oven in these bean pots for 35 mins. The taste and texture was so good!. I added the mixed sprouts at the end.
I was slightly obsessed with stuffing things.
and baking
My husband's birthday cake
yum.
and to the uncalled for cherry bake wells.
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
Those stuffed caps look yum, am yet to try something like that.
I saw Lolo's latest blog (veganyumyum) which featured Marmalade Tofu and decided I had to try making it, even tho I have cooked tofu before that I marinated w/ sweet chilli sauce and tofu that I didn't end up liking. It was yum! I also added in some red cap and corn to cook in the marinade and I did white rice w/ lemon instead of couscous.
Bake tofu on rice
I added a salad and some mushies
And here are some palmiers I made the other weekend
ok, here's the bakewell tart recipe as requested.... mine's all gone now, think I'll have to make another!
Make a shortcrust pastry, roll in clingfilm and relax it in the fridge for 30 mins. Then roll out and line the bottom of a square cake tin. Prick all over with a fork and cook at 190 degrees for 15/20 mins.
When cooled a bit, smear a big, thick, oozy layer of raspberry jam on top of the pastry .... don't go easy with it!
150g flour
75g brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
60g ground almonds
1 tsp almond essence (optional .. for an extra almondy burst of almond!)
100ml sunflower oil
150ml water
Mix together ... dry ingredients first, then mix in the liquids. Pour on top of the jammy pastry and bake at 190 degrees for about 30 mins. Leave to go cold.
Mix about 150g of icing sugar with enough water to make a thick icing. Pour over the tart and top with glace cherry halves.
Good with ice cream, custard or on it's own with a cuppa.
that sounds well easy to make.
Next week, I have a task.
This is my tuna not creation...I quite liked it. I have no idea what tuna tastes like as I've never eaten it. I think it tasted like chicken mayo but there you go!!!

Emzy, you're like the queen of food touching each other on the plate and it drives me a little crazy. Looks good though

that tuna not creation look lovely emzy - can you post the recipe?
ooh i like my food all muddled together!
that tuna not sounds and looks lovely - i never used to eat fish but think i might try it. (er the vegan version, obviously, i will not be trying to eat a dead fish anytime soon )
Well I'm not a gourmet chef like some on here but I did used to be a chef of sorts and I was told to make it look like there is more on the plate than there is. That's probably where the habit comes from and besides I like big portions!
Um well cedar the recipe was just Tuna Not which I ordered online and palmil pressed flaxseed mayo. Just mixed it up and threw it on the potato! Next time I might add a few spring onions or leeks into the mix and see how it goes.

I am surprised how many people have a problem with food touching other food on their plates (as noted in the 'weird habits' thread). I'm going to start studying how the people I know serve up a meal now!

I made a green curry on Monday night so I can have it for a few nights now. I used coconut milk, Blue Kitchen's green curry paste, tofu, mushies, red cap, corn, carrot, sugar snap peas and tomato. Served it w/ quinoa:
I really like NutriSoy's tempeh burgers, but not sure what to have w/ them. The only other time I have tempeh is on a take away burger w/ satay sauce, cabbage and salad, what do you guys eat with it?
I took this pic w/ the ppl who hate food touching in mind Tempeh burger, salad, mushies and a dollop of chilli sauce and Plamil mayo on the side:
Mmmm lookin good jambox and kitteh
Kitteh, the carrot is touching the lettuce! *recoils in horror*
Damn, I knew it wouldn't be acceptable! And what about the curry, all mixed in :P
It was the thought that counts
I have a plate with dividers on it...and it has cute little piggys too...of course it is meant to be a childs plate...but, I refuse to grow up all the way.

I'd freak out if my food came to me divided like that.

Just kidding JBR. Looks good. Tofu Pops or Smart dogs? I can't figure out what the difference is. Anyone know? I think the same company makes both.
