Babies eat them when they are teething. I eat them dipped in hot tea.

any sweet oaty type biscuit will do... you want something nice and crumbly and textured.
Mine is all gone now - straight on my hips!
I've been meaning to post for a while about an amazing meal we had at a local hotel (The Bridge). It's not a special veggie place by any means, but they prepared a special menu for us for one night - there were only 5 of us too !
- Garden Jerusalem artichoke veloute, parsley oil.
- Aubergine and sun blushed tomato Charlotte, basil pistou, aged balsamic
- Cauliflower and winter truffle gratin,Puy lentil dressing, salsify frites
- Open tart of hazlenut confited root vegetbles, crispy parsnips
- Pearl barley and coconut pudding, coconut sorbet
- Pineapple and mango millefuille
The food was fantastic, and in addition to those items above, we had a Avocado sorbet with Rosemary creme (See first pic). The Chef even sources vegetable lecithin so he could make it!
It makes me hungry just looking at the pics.

how fun!
mmm avocado sorbet
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
woah, posh vegan food!
Wow Cumin that looks so good.
Cumin that looks awesome and not from a vegan restaurant either? Amazing!
I made a Jamaican Crumble the other day and it was delicious!
The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.
sooo hungry
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
I like those towers, Cumin. Sounds like my kind of night out. A bit of sophistication never goes amiss.
wow, fantastic food cumin!
what's in yr jamacan crumble emzy?
It's chopped tomatoes blended abit with onions, sweet potatoes, chic peas and cubed smoked tofu. I also put abit of cayenne pepper in there too. Thecrumble is just wholemeal flour and porridge oats held together with a splash of oil and unsweetened soya milk. Traditionally it is made with prawns and black eye peas. It is supposed to be the ultimate munchies cure

Cumin, that looks like such a good meal. And Emzy, your crumble looks really nice.

Seasonal asparagus salad with mixed cabbage and salad leaves, mustard dressing, cherry toms and home sprouted seeds/beans and polenta croutons i had for starter at warehouse cafe yesterday:
Mixed vege and chick pea tagine with herb infused cous cous and garlic yoghurt dressing - really fresh and tasty:
Where is this warehouse place? If i'm ever in the area, that couscous thingy is on the cards.
P.S. That asparagus looks huge. Either that or the portion was small.
Its in Birmingham
It was a starter sized salad, and yes huge asparagus, if you go to the farms in Evesham it seems to be all huge asparagus at the mo
I'll definitely go if I'm ever in Bru then, aliT, cheers!
If you and Jo are ever in Brum do let me know and we can all go to the Warehouse - and everyone else whos free
sounds like a meet-up is on the cards....
Could well be arranged that
Do not forget to mention that the Warehouse is above a vegan shop! (It still is, I hope?)
I used to know there from the city centre by the back street, rather than down Digbeth High Road. I reckon I still could find my way if I was there though could not describe the route. Although the last time I was in Birmingham the Bullring was a big hole in the ground, so it might have changed by now anyway.
Birmingham is very day trippable from London though. Not sure about Virgin Trains, but with Chiltern it is about £13 return on a Saturday with their e-tickets. Or if you book far enough in advance only around £7 by National Express coach.
My first ever online meet up was in the Midlands, which was way back in, I think, 1997! I am so old. And although I was not a vegan at the time, I travelled up from London to it with someone who was.
Michael.
If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find me...
Yes the vegan shop is still there and going strong
It looks so different now since your last visit, massive 'bullring' shopping centre!
Id be happy to sort a meet up there be great to get everyone to Brum, national express do single £1 tickets now if your enough in advance and chiltern are so cheap!
Cumin, it looks as though the chef at that hotel really had fun catering for you - how refreshing to be seen as a challenge and not a problem!
Cumin, your meal looks amazing, great work, esp. from a non-vegan place. I had brekky at a non-vegan place yesterday and they were unable to cook mushrooms for me without using butter, so silly.
This thread always makes me hungrrry.
Yes, he was very happy to do it too. To be honest, I have found the same with most proper chefs. The only ones that seem to have an issue, are the ones who are over-worked and don't want the agro of deviating from the set menu - such as in a chain pub. If you are prepared to pay for a good restaurant, with a chef who makes his own choices, then they will normally oblige.
I'm not talking about v.expensive though, this one for instance was about £20 a head for the 3 courses.
How good it is to be well-fed, healthy, and kind all at the same time. Henry J. Heimlich
I made this myself on Saturday It was delicious (just thought I'd blow my own trumpet there!)
mmmm tasty looking food.
that starter looks so fresh alison!
That cake looks really good AlterEgo.
This was sooo nice. Veggie and banana curry with brown rice, mini nan breads, cucumber and mango chutney.
A really good sammy:

Homemade English Muffins, recipe here.
English Muffin Pizzas, with VWAV sauce and Teese! Also broccoli and homemade ranch.
veganhomemade.wordpress.com
So how's Teese then?
I like it a lot. It's saltier than I remember cheese being, but not so much that it put me off. It's really moist and shreds easily, and obviously melts. It's very creamy when melted. I say worth the price, plus it's a huge log of Teese so I'll be eating off it for weeks.
veganhomemade.wordpress.com
where did u find teese?
I've never heard if it.
everyone stuff looks so good today!
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
I'd blooming love to try that stuff. I mean, super melting Cheezly is good, and that Keehse that pavo brought me last month from Germany was fricking awesome, but that grass is always greener!
Dur, I could've mentioned that the first time, huh? I ordered mine from veganessentials.com. I needed to get vitamins anyway, and I couldn't resist. As far as I know the only two cities that stock it at storefronts are Chicago and Portland.
Bryzee, I've never had Cheezly but it sounds pretty good from what you guys say. I think Teese is worth the price and shipping cost if you can get it.
veganhomemade.wordpress.com
You're such a great chef jambox....your food always looks so awesome!
Great pics guys!
The Teese looks good, are there different varieties like w/ Cheezly?
Vanilla and Choc Velvet g-free cupcakes w/ Velvet icing (from VCTOTW, I had no red colouring)
My brekky on Mother's Day (ignore the butter in the back, that was on a plate for my Mum)
A pizza my bf's sis made for me on a g-free base, toppped w/ tomatoes, basil and Cheezly mozarella
That food looks really yummy Kitteh and you have really nice plates too
do people have icing bags or icing 'syringes' to get the icing that nice?
mothers day brekkie looks tasty too! toast looks bit nekked though, any spread or mashed avo on it kitteh?
Kitteh - that pizza looks so good, I could eat that now. The cakes look great as well.
This is my healthy breakfast this morning - melon, nectarine, plum, banana and orange fruit salad. It all went downhill after this.
I had this the other day as well. Al fresco dining:

Yum, EmmaP. There's a pizza craze going on.
What on earth is an icing syringe? Sounds intense.
I made seitan pepperoni from Vegan Vittles.
Then I put it on VWAV pizza crust w/ VWAV pizza sauce and tempeh crumbles, bacos, mushrooms, onions, green peppers & Teese. Deluxe pizza!
veganhomemade.wordpress.com
Those pizzas look yummy!
I most definately use an icing bag for when you see icing in a swirly shape like that. Sometimes it's too much effort to get the bag out, put the tip on, put the icing in and then clean it all up, so I use a spatula and smear the icing on!
I have a small synthetic cloth bag that came with some metal tips I got from a homewares store. Or you can buy plastic disposable ones and cut a small hole in a corner or use tips with the plastic ones too.
Tofu, pasta, sweetcorn, salad and bbq salad dressing
Breakfast: scrambled tofu, waffles, beans and toast
It looks yum, yum.
JBR - everything you do looks fab.
I had to make a pizza today as I'm so easily influenced by the pictures on here.
I would have put mozzarella cheezly on it if I had any in the house but I didn't so it has green pepper, tomatoes, sweetcorn, pineapple, courgettes, mushrooms, garlic, olive oil and chilli peppers.
