"i'm rejecting my reflection, cause i hate the way it judges me."
pavotrouge, that looks incredible. The real version of this was one of my favorites so I'm looking forward to trying the seitan version.
Wow, now I'm hungry too (and I haven't even had a look at all the pictures in this thread!).
I honestly think we should make leaflets with these pictures and hand them out instead of slaughterhouse pictures. Or maybe both? I'm sure we'd convince a lot more people of veganism!
I hereby nominate Bryzee and Joeybee for cutest vegan couple EVER.
veganhomemade.wordpress.com
I second that nomination.
"i'm rejecting my reflection, cause i hate the way it judges me."

Pavotrouge- i love the look of that apple pie....mmmmmm! How did you make it?
Here is my dinner
It is tofu burgers, noodles and chilli sauce
I'm really hungry now! Great food everyone
Yet again I will let the thread down by presenting...
Garlic bread and tomato soup!
I know they don't look very good compared to some of the amazing stuff on here, but they did taste nice! Plus, two months ago I didn't cook at all (apart from toasted sandwiches and oven pizza) so I'm being quite brave!
that soup looks like marinara. yummy.
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
The links are all on my new blog But here are the quiches - http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2006/12...u-quiches.html
I omitted the green pepper and put a box of thawed frozen spinach in the blender.
Next time I brunch, everyone's invited!
Aradia, that torte DOES look scrummy. And Pavo, the apple pie looks like just about the best thing in the world.
Yum, nice brown on those burgers. My homemade burgers always fall apart...
And Est, you are definitely not letting us down with your dinner. It looks really good. My mouth is actually watering. And don't worry, cooking gets easier and more fun with time!
veganhomemade.wordpress.com
Yay! I just ordered my laptop lunchbox
i don't know what est does yum, but here's what i do. get a vegan baguette, sub, small rolls etc. cut in half longways. in a bowl mix some spread with crushed garlic and i like to put some dried herbs in too.
spread along the rolls and put the lids back on. then either wrap in foil or put in the oven for 10-15mins and voila! easy peasy
most baguettes, but not all of them (some use milk)- check out the ingredients list!
I didn't make the apple pie, it was made a mysterious Dutchman who showed up at the meetup, didn't talk much and then pulled out all those baked goods. I'll ask him for the recipe if you like.
and I love that "marinara" soup
Hey yum, jambox, pavo Thanks for nice comments
The Sainsburys baguettes that are part-baked and sealed in a thick plastic wrapper (usually in or near the pitta breads section) are vegan - they're labelled veggie and vegan in the bottom right corner.
If you're making all of them into garlic bread it's about half a mug of vegan marg with 6-7 cloves of garlic crushed into it (or diced very fine). On to a baking tray for 5 mins at 200 deg.
The tomato "soup" is half a tin of organic chopped tomatoes, 1 clove garlic (crushed or diced), 1 tbsp tomato puree, good sprinkling mixed herbs, stir on a low heat for 5 mins. I don't think it would taste so good with any old tinned tomatoes - the organic ones really added an amazing burst of flavour - beautiful and simple.
I've got to keep practicing cooking so I can post a really complicated recipe soon and impress everyone!!
Thanks Est- that is brill. Yum!!! I shall be maki9ng that soon
xx
Wow! that apple pie looks delish Pavotrouge.
Any chance of the recipe? *smiles sweetly* *begs*
