I don't know if it's vegan or not but there was indeed an omni with us drinking that beer.

Peroni has been confirmed vegan in the past, I don't know what the latest is.

It's debateable as to whether truffles are vegan or not though, as their harvesting involves pigs/dogs. I read a report a while back however that states most truffle oil is synthetic.

We were making a joke last night that someone on here would make a comment about truffles and question whether they were vegan or not.

lol at the kitties. Do they do that with every dish?
    (everything looks great btw)
I've started taking photos on the balcony as the light is much better and the cats can't steal the food! If I do it indoors there are times when they are not interested, depends on the food.

Kitteh - you know we're staying with you if we visit sydney, right? No? Oh, well you do now.
Thanks for letting me know! Are you planning a trip here?

    Quote BlackCats View Post
So cute. I can't let my cats anywhere near my food as they try to stick their heads in it. I think they need training. All the food looks fab Kitteh especially that potato dish.

Sorry these are blurry pics again. I forgot to take photos of the starters. All the food is from Zilli Green in London.

Mine sit and look but after a few minutes they start hopping onto the table or sticking their noses closer, if I left the food, it would be gone!

And it's only 11am here but I am so hungry and in need of food after seeing the skewers and pasta. I really want to know how they made the skewer.

A home made curry night at a friend's house - only 1 dish (which I've cropped from the photo) was not vegan.

The vegan option at my friend's birthday party - friend of hers made a buffet of West Indian food.

They have challenged themselves to be able to make great curries from scratch this year but it was very ambitious to make 8 dishes on the first attempt. Apparently the secret is in making up the different curry pastes which you then add to the food of your choice! (They marinated some tofu for me so I didn't miss out on the non-vegan dish.)

We were also debating what spinach indian restaurants use for their sag dishes. We thought it might be tinned spinach but does anyone know for sure?

Like Enchantress uses, it's frozen spinach. A lot of places buy it in bulk; it comes in hockey puck shaped discs for ease of portion size and defrosting.

Thanks for that. (Our chef friend managed to convince us it couldn't be as it would be too watery!) And I just bought a tin of spinach to see what it is like.

Poor you. Tinned spinach is gross . I don't know what Popeye saw in it.

The recipe I use says to cook the spinach seperately first, then drain it and squeeze out the water, which would overcome the "too watery" aspect. Although I skipped the drain and squeeze step, because I didn't want to throw the nutrients that had leached into the cooking water down the drain, and it still turned out fine.

It's just French bread but I made it myself and it's delicious

I'm sooo please with my breadmaker, going from not being able to find any vegan crusty bread in a supermarket a month ago to being able to have fresh home made bread with just 5 minutes work today and for only about 40p too.
