Cedarblue, that's a great photo of the fruit/nuts from an artistic point of view. You should frame it.

That looks so nice Aradia - so nice in fact that I think you really, REALLY ought to give us all the recipe!!
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
**nods vigorously**
Aradia, is there a recipe to go with that amazing looking cake?
here comes the sun
here you go .....
350g self raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
Sieve together.
75g margarine
Mix in with fingertips.
100g brown sugar
½ tsp grated lemon rind
1 tsp vanilla essence
Stir in well.
4 over ripe bananas, mashed
2 tbsp oil
Add and mix really well. You may need a splashet of milk.
Tip into a lined loaf tin and cook at 200 degrees for about an hour. Cool.
For the icing .... mix instant coffee (don't use the real stuff for this) with a spoon or two of hot water. Mix into icing sugar until it's a nice thick paste and smear filthily all over cake.
Like excess icing off fingers in seductive fashion, a la Nigella. Only do this if someone is watching you - otherwise it's a bit weird like!
Lunch today .... bruschettta with pesto, red onions sauteed with a bit of garlic and chillie and topped with tomato with olive oil and balsamic.
and some fresh pineapple dipped in choccy woccy
that's ace..thanks aradia..i just wrote that down..am going to make later..

Aradia, your food always looks gorgeous. I made your fennel and almond soup the other day and it was lurvely.
Aradia - that bruschetta looks so heavenly. it's so simple to make but it has so many flavours in it.
Pesto without parm? How's that done? It does look yummy, I must say.
yummy yummy. so hungry...
The only pesto I've ever made was just basil, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil, and salt. Then again, I never made pesto before going vegan, so have no idea whats traditionally in it. Theres also vegan parm, though I've never tried it.
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
mmmmh bruschetta...
best basil pesto is in vegan with a vengeance - it has walnuts and it is really pungent- when you are eating it and it is under your nose it is like inhaling springtime!
why not pesto without parmesan?
many traditional Italian recipes don't contain any, either.
I usually mix whatever herb is within reach and puree it with any nut available, sometimes add nooch.
oh lol that's food bloggers/PPK language for nutrional yeast
simple couscous taboullé:
raspberry nougat cake:
garlic and onion soup with homemade bread- second batch (the first was spilled on my kitchen floor :/ ):
ok... how do I get pictures from flickr to show here
[edit: thanks!]
It should work if you wrap image tags at either end of your http address
eg [ IMG ] and [ / IMG ] (but without the spaces obviously!)
at least it did with mine, after I'd selected the 'medium size' option from 'all sizes' and used the code for that size....but I've just tried doing it with one of your pictures and it wouldn't work this time so maybe I just got lucky last time!
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
You need to lose the ?v=0 off the end of the URL before wrapping it in IMG tags.

Chilli with chilli cornbread and a dollop of yoghurt. I could eat chilli twice a week for the rest of my life - no trouble at all!
thanks risker! Why didn't I think of that myself (because I didn't look at the address, stupid me) ?
mmmh I haven't had chilli in ages...
Aradia, how did you make the cornbread please ?
I have a chilli bubbling away in my slow cooker ... cornbread would be yum with it
Ah, cornbread couldn't be quicker or easier. This is the recipe I use most often ... I crumbe dried chillis in to the mixture
