My phone's camera managed to suck out all of the colour, but it was good, I swear.
Stuffed mushrooms (soy mince / onions / tomatoes), roast potatoes, and mange tout (sp?) - though I had already eaten some hahah.
My nan cooked it, as she is a legend.
I'm going to have a go at making those peanut butter bar things from a couple pages back tomorrow..we'll just have to see how that goes.
yum radioprotector! the 2 lonely sugar snap peas made me giggle.

i concur, ruby! off to make some pasta.
I don't think I've had "meatballs" since I was vegetarian. Probably because you can't buy pre-made ones here easily. I've got some of that burger mix in the cupboard so I'll get some going in the next few days.

Cool thanks cedarblue!
Anyhoo here is the yummy bbq tofu, pepper and aubergine marinade and bulgar wheat I made yesterday for dinner!

That looks really good Emzy.
yes, that DOES look tasty emzy!
p.s. the asda meatballs are not vegan just veggie
I made these for the first time today yum - I had never heard of ackee till I became vegan - so much for "what do you eat", eh? Answer loadsa stuff omnis have never even heard of!
Ackee quiche! - I will have one of these this evening with a huge salad but they would go just as well with mash and beans and I think would be yummy with brown sauce or tomato ketchup. The original recipe is for one large quiche but I didn't have the right size quiche pan so I made 4 littlies!
My friend raves about ackee, her family are West Indian and I think it's quite a common dish there.
It looks lovely, but what does it actually taste of?
Ackee is a west indian favourite it looks and feels like egg yolks and even tastes a bit eggy strange but I think this is why it works so well in quiche!

Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
can you get creamed corn in the uk?
oooh vava, that looks really good!
roxy, i want one of each for dinner please!

Thanks Ivy and Ruby
Cup o Tea - yes that's the one! I love their whole range of faux meats They're quite expensive though, so I only buy them when they're on sale.
aaaw such amazing food everybody!
I've been lazy the last week but have projects in mind for the weekend
who needs creamed corn, anyway?
ok I've found a food I can't stand to post in the yukky vegan eats thread. I can't stand creamed corn!
I hate this thread.
Stop making me hungry.
Peace, love, and happiness.
That would not work, but you could get a recipe and make your own.
Looking at a few recipes for it, it seems that creamed corn is basically a bechamel sauce (but made with cream) with corn added to it....that sounds easy enough to veganise
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
Hmm not really. Canned creamed corn is just corn, sugar, and maybe water.
Peace, love, and happiness.
That looks great roxy and emzy.
My can of creamed corn says, Whole kernal Corn , Water, sugar, corn starch and salt. (A little white pepper might be nice too.) A recipe would give you the correct amounts, which would be nice.
i've noticed a lot of people make quite thick gravy - i like mine more runny and liquid.
a lot better than creamed corn, my attempt at the raspberry-chocolate chip blondies from VWAV:
ooh i was intrigued by that very same recipe yesterday. Might have to make it next week.
they are divine!
look, I didn't totally waste the day, I made sausages!
This may not look "good" but trust me. It is. It's a pasty pie. (lazy man's version of a pasty) It's made with gimme lean fake ground beef, onions, potatoes, seasonings and some vegan brown gravy all cooked in a pie crust. I eat it smothered in brown gravy. The next day, when it's cold, I eat it smothered in ketchup.
looks good to me. mmmm meet pie w gravy...

Here's a picture of the wholemeal blueberry pancakes I made the other day!

Emzy, where do you get strawberries from in February?
Pavotrouge - those sausages look yum! Recipe please!!
And Sponge - that pie!!!! Do you think I could make it with TVP? And what pastry do you use? I'm soooo making it!
Here's stuffed pepper, pepper sauce and broccoli
Big Pepper!
mmmh peppers... why must the organic ones cost a fortune?
the sausage recipe is from http://www.everydaydish.tv/ the second last one on the list, though all recipes from that site are awesome (just making the mocha cake!).
Bah! I haven't got any gluten flour
Maybe I'll make a cake instead.
Although I've been super-healthy all week.
