They're all so beautiful Marrers, that's not just good vegan food - that's some GREAT vegan food!
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.

Wow. How about a vegan meet-up at Terre a Terre? Anyone?
Marrers what's the website? I need to go to that restaurant!!!
The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.
It's Terre a Terre. It's quite pricey and the vegan options can be disappointing (usually only 2 main courses - you see them both here. I wasn't really in the mood for curry but I think rostis are a bit boring so . . .)
These pics are from ages ago but since we are talking cake here is the peanut butter bomb cake at Teany. It's also available at Atlas Cafe and some other places in New York.
And dessert at Candle 79 in New York.

I would share it but, well y'know . . . only with my friends!

So much delicious cake! You guys in a cake club or something?
Dinner tonight: tempeh wingz (from Don't Eat Off The Sidewalk zine), homemade ranch, onion rings (inspired by xRodolfox), and a chopped salad with more ranch. So good that it made me feel a little sick
everyones cakes look amazing
jambox, your food looks really good.
how'd you make the ranch?
The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you're uncool.
MMMMMMM Marrers!! Those cakes and desserts and meals look absolutely delicious!!
Once again Jambox, you have excelled
Jambox makes me want to be fat!!! Everything you post makes me hungry even if I have just ate!! GAH!

Sweeeeeeet. Someday I'll stop trying to lose weight and join!
PaintedxSkyline and Cedar, I pulled the ranch off of here and it's my go to for creamy dressing. ConsciousCuisine posted it a while back.
Re: How can I get my husband to turn vegan?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's one of my Vegan 'Ranch' Dressings:
1/2 cup Soy Mayonnaise (Vegenaise is the BEST)
6 oz. Firm silken tofu
3 green onions, chopped
1/4 cup plain soymilk (unsweetened)
3 T. lemon juice
1 T. chopped fresh parsley
1 T. chopped fresh dill
1/2-1 tsp. each garlic powder and onion powder
1/3 a tsp. salt (or less/more depending on taste)
A few grinds freshly cracked pepper and a dash of cayenne pepper
Mix the lemon juice and soymilk together, stirring and let curdle.
Combine the remaining ingredients in a food procesor and pulse. Add the soymilk and lemon mixture and correct seasonings as desired. For an extra-rich dressing, add 1/3 cup vegan sour cream with the soymilk and lemon mixture. Add unsweetened soymilk to thin to desired consistency.
(I usually use dried herbs, 1 tsp to each Tbs fresh called for. I used fresh dill once and used a ton as I wanted super dilly ranch, but it all turned green and didn't taste so hot.)
A couple of things I made yesterday:
Raisin flapjack with chocolate on top:
Chocolate peanut butter cup:
unwrapped:
And smooshed after a bite:
oh my lord! that peanut butter choc cup looks just what i need to easy my scratchy throat!!!

Ok this is nothing special but it was sooooo good. Spicey bean burger with lettuce, homemade potatoe wedges, tomatoes, avocados and fried mushrooms. Lotsa ketchup too!
I hate shepherds pit but this was one that emily made with green lentils, steamed brocolli, cauliflour and sweetcorn. The mash was cheesy and the gravy was lush!!
The first time I made seiten....with bbq sauce, kale, green lentils and a sweet potato with cream tofutti.
