Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
yum, those muffins rose well roxy!
Thanks guys They were really hearty - made with wholewheat flour and oatbran!
Oooh I want one of those muffins! Sounds like a perfect combination - banana, chocolate and walnuts...
lol - they were very tasty!
omg roxy, those muffins look amazing.

my daughter made me these crispies for mothers day;
and we had mushroom & ale pie with steamed brocolli, roasties & roast garlic for sunday lunch!
dinner's on cedarblue, eveyone! dig in!
your lunch looks awesome, cedar!
Mother's day? Right, it's on a different day in every country...
I suppose it depends on when the capitalists in each country think they have a slot to maximise profit most...
*is cynical*
Thanks PSX
Cedar, when I was little, in Australia, we called those Chocolate Crackles. They were an all time favourite at our house!
Your lunch looks delicious too
Here's what I had for lunch today:
It's a Smoothie! Organic Strawberries, Organic Banana and Crushed Ice.
looks a lovely smoothie rox is that the ingredients for your smoothie tomorrow in the bowl? banana, orange....onion?
Those crispies your daughter made look wonderful, Cedarblue! I love those
cupcake/muffin cups, as well. And your lunch.
Edit: I didn't notice this new page of posts. That smoothie looks so good! Exactly what I'd like right now, unfortunately I just ate all my strawberries...
Thanks girls
Haha Cedar! The orange is for a salsa I'm going to make, as is the mango that's kind of hiding there, the onion was for the gazpacho today and the banana, well yes, that will be for tomorrow's smoothie
Here's a pic of the raw gazpacho I made today. I put chunks of avocado in a bowl and poured the soup over it.
Looks yummy, Roxy.
Thanks Mahk. Honestly - it was so delicious and extremely filling!
Um if you call worshipping it and telling it how amazingly good it tastes as I'm shoving it in my gob, properly praising then yes I did.
I'm a real fan of raw food and smoothies at the moment. Finding myself eating more and more and more....
Cedar - those rice crispie cakes look good. I haven't had them since I was a kid. What wholegrain cereals would be good with that? I quit the refined stuff. Do rice crispies or corn flakes do a wholegrain version?
The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.
i would say there was no wholegrain equivalent. i figured that i don't eat much refined stuff and she made the effort to make them so i enjoyed them! maybe you could use an unrefined museli, or make your own, with the choc?
Emzy, there is a multi-grain cornflake available made by Kelloggs (not the best company I know), or some brown rice puffs - not sure if you could get them or something like them from your local health food shop, the kids have made chocolate nests before at school using shredded wheat (again, Nestle is a crap company) but maybe a supermarket or something does an own brand version
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
oh i didn't know that, thanks ivy
Poison Ivy - Thanks for that! Something I'll try and make for a dinner party me thinks.
The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.
Right I've done some checking and the Kellogs Multigrain cornflakes AREN'T vegan but Kelloggs Multigrain Rice Krispies shapes ARE - Sorry for not checking before I posted earlier
But they're both still pretty refined - the least refined are probably the brown rice puffs I reckon!
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
Don't tell me...wait...is it milk or honey? HOW RUBBISH! Wholegrain it has got to be for me really. I'll use the rice puffs
The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.
Neither!! These are the ingredients for the multigrain cornflakes:
Cereals(Maize{39%}, Brown Rice {30%}, Wholewheat{22%}), Sugar, Barley Malt Flavouring, Salt., Niacin, Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12.
and these are the ingredients for normal cornflakes (which are vegan)
Maize, Sugar, Barley Malt Flavouring, Salt, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Niacin, Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12.
Which other that the different grains are identical yet Kellogs say only the ordinary cornflakes are vegan....so I don't know what it is!!
Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
Maybe the sugaris different? Our the source of the vitamins?
Applebaby and Roxy, your foods look incredible. I want them.
Edit - some yummy things I had last weekend:
A (piece of) scone with strawberry and soy cream
Tart
Brownies, from Vive le Vegan. I adore that recipe!
... I love sweet things.
your food looks so good. Do you have a recipe, you tart?
whoops, of course I meant "Do you have a recipe for your tart?"
wow that looks amazing. Do you also have the recipe for the brownies too?
might have to do some serious baking his weekend. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm
x
Oh sure! The recipe for the tart comes from A Little Book of Afternoon Teas by Rosa Mashiter and the brownies are from Vive le Vegan! by Dreena Burton. I'll send them to you in PMs if you'd like
The tart recipe is very simple (only the strips of dough on top took some time), the brownies have more ingredients but are simple to put together and sooooo worth it.
I didn't think this looked too bad for cheap student food that i made today:
That looks very good! the pictures are pretty.
that's so pretty, confusionisben!
I wish I had a better camera
Anyway, here's some of mine of late:
Yesterday's pizza:
Dhal the other day:
that bean/sosmix bake (topped with sliced potatoes), with salad and ketchup:
ETA: oh yeah, and roasted brussel sprouts... and salad cream...
Gotta love that baked bean bake
i've got some burgermix to use up now. do you rekon that would work the same?
I don't see why not!
Hopefully not still-frozen mince...
And crunchy!
I posted these in the raw thread, but I'll put them here too. Mangocado Salsa and the second photo is with the salsa on romaine leaves. I wrapped it up in the romaine and it made for a very messy, juicy, yummy dinner lol!
mmm looks really tasty roxy! glad to see some healthier inspiration these days!
Each snowflake in an avalanche pleads not guilty.
Thanks Ruby I didn't end up eating the leftovers for dinner tonight. Instead I'll take them for my lunch tomorrow. I'd better remember to pack some breath mints also lol, as I don't want to knock anyone out with my fresh garlic breath!!

I can't even get frozen veggie mince here O_O !
The salad looks lovely, roxy!
what sort of cheese are you using for the pizza atm, bryan?
Ooooh, I gotta upload my pictures sometime soon...
i'll copy roxy's idea and post my raw scoffs upon here too
