OMG! (I didn't know she was 64. I thought she was younger than that.)

She did start off with a bloody good idea, although she did sell to Loreal.
If i keep a green bough in my heart my singing bird will come.
From this link below, I see that she was actually infiltrating L'oreal to create change within the company. Read it and enjoy! She was our friend!

Sad news. She was the first person to tackle the issue if animal testing through her business and she also encouraged people to reuse their bottles by providing a refill service at her shops and she was among the first to be concerned about fair trade. She was ahead of her time and although we were concerned when she sold to L'Oreal she originally set the green, fair trade and animal rights agender in business that others have followed.
She's an exellent role model for people who's interested in combining business and social change. Activists and CEO's alike can draw wisdom from her. I had the pleasure of listening to her speaking here in Los angeles in 2003 and it was very insightful and inspirational to me who at that time was opening a little business on my own. She was an amazing woman.

Not sure where the substance is in that article. Not sure she was a trojan horse as she hoisted her flag long ago, then let it down somewhat.
Still i agree with Moggy, she seemed to have started off with a good idea, at least if you're a compassionate capitalist.
