    Default Help..? (Tempeh)

    I bought this yesterday;




    Am I right in thinking that i'm just supposed to eat it like that or what..?
    I'm confused
    Someone help pretty please?

    i would think that if it's deep fried its ready to eat...

    I would throw it in the over to heat it up (I don't think I could stomach cold tempeh) but other than that, yeah, it seems ready to eat.

    I sometimes buy that kind and we use it like bacon (if no-one minds me saying so!) except that it only really needs heating up, not cooking. It's good in a sandwich or a stir-fry with cabbage and (pre-cooked) potatoes.

    id warm it (or not) and make a wonderful sandwich out of it.

    try a tempeh lettuce and tomato. (TLT) with hummus or vegan mayo if you like.

    thats my fav.

    I've never known what to do with tempeh. I brought some uncooked from Canterbury Wholefoods a few months back and decided to fry it in a little oil and have it with a cooked breakfast. It was very chewy, dry and didn't taste of a lot. What is it anyway?

    It's fermented soya beans.You usually have to steam it in a little flavoured water for 10 mins before adding it to recipes.I make a deliciopus Tempeh Hash.
