Default How kind of Waitrose to email me about Turkey availability

I have just received an email from Waitrose assuring me that contrary to reports in the press there are still plenty of 'Organic' Turkeys available.

Well whoopie do! What great news, I'll crack open the bubbly.

I emailed them back and asked them why they assume that everyone who just happens to be on their mailing list wants to eat dead animals.

What do you think the odds are of me getting a reply?

If you get a reply please post it on here as I'm sure it would be quite comical for us all to read!

They also assume that everyone on their mailing list drinks alcohol, doesn't boycott nestle, doesn't have coeliac disease, owns a DVD player... Do you want them to ask you to do a personality profile before they put you on their mailing list?

No of course I don't, I was simply taking the pee for mildly humourous effect. I clearly failed miserably.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to be a miserable git but I couldn't think of a nice way to say what I wanted at that time of the morning,I take it you did actually email them though?

I did email them, but thus far I haven't had a reply. TBH I'm not expecting one, but I do like a bit of a wind-up now and then.

Actually as we know stores do a lot of "customer profiling" these days (based on loyalty cards etc) it wouldn't be a bad idea if they kept a note of what's likely to offend people, while they're at it. Mind you it would take quite sophisticated software to figure out that someone never buys particular categories of goods I think.

I imagine they will answer your e-mail eventually- they've always answered my various grouses, though sometimes rather lamely.
