If so, where do you buy it and what do you buy?
If so, where do you buy it and what do you buy?
i've bought bits and bobs from the shazzie site
http://www.detoxyourworld.com/acatal...uperfoods.html
Thanks, I will check it out :0)
Very expensive, but tasty.
I buy raw chocolate from the Raw Chocolate Co. sometimes. I love the vanoffe bar.

Funky Raw is also good:
www.funkyraw.com
Thanks :0)
indeed. i buy the odd treat product from there, nut butter etc. the raw chocolate co. is good, i like the vanoffee bar too.
i find i can eat raw without really buying these extra 'superfood' items etc. i buy these sort of products as treats and to ring the changes in some raw recipes.
what i am really after is some black sesame seeds and/or black tahini in a jar.
i haven't used these, but here are some more i know of;

Cedar, do you have any Asian/Indian supermarkets near you? I'd have thought they'd do the black sesame seeds. If not you can order them online from

No idea on the black tahini storewise, but the fresh network do it online at £11.50 a jar!!!!!

Blackadder: Baldrick, have you no idea what irony is?
Baldrick: Yes, it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron.
thanks ivy, i look into the asian market next time i go to town.
the tahini is a bit pricey isnt it? still when i'm flush i'd like to try it. ani phyo uses it in a few of her recipes which look really good.
iHerb.com is THE best online site! Supercheap and very good price on shipping! I buy all my stuff from them =)
Why kill when you have the choice to avoid it?
IHerb are fantastic, quick delivery and there are some coupons if you look around.
From one student to another, pass on purchasing 'goji' berries as asian grocers sell Lechumia berries which are the same thing! And far cheaper.
Look out for 2nd hand dehydrators and vitamixs, as they are certainly expensive, ebay.com, amazon, craiglist and such swapmeet sites can be of help here.
Purchase in bulk, you will notice that caocao powder is far cheaper in the 1kg-5kg than the 200-500g.
There are some great ayurvedic providers in the US one is called BanyanBotanicals and you can get amalaki, triphala and etc powders in bulk for cheap!
Be wary of the word 'superfood' you can spend a lot of money that way!
One can begin purchasing products that are marked up 200% easily, and now after some impulse purchases and simple hunting have found cheaper methods. One way to go is find the latin name for herbs and then search for those opposed to 'goji' or 'amla' you may find herb etc dealers.
If you drink tea (cold brewed) try hibiscus, it is very cheap and potent in antioxidants, lowers blood pressure and delicious. Caffeine free too. Widely available online in 16oz - 1KG bags and cheaper than black tea.
Namaste
I also buy a lot of my organic food from iHerb. With my last order I got raw chocolate powder, chia seeds, one granola bar, one banana bread flax bar and chocolate 'cookies'. I doubt I will ever become 100% raw, but I like experimenting with raw foods.
I'm the same way, though I love raw food, I don't think 100% is the thing for me... I believe that some cooked food in your diet is good! I have cut out the "four evils" and keep my diet very simple. I like it that way, so that's the way I'll eat
vitacost.com They're also pretty good for getting eco-friendly cleaners, soap, etc. They have a lot of really good brands for cheap.
I get my essentials from http://www.rawpower.com.au/
I also order a lot of stuff from them. They give $10 discount for first orders, too, and sometimes there is free postage.
