Thank you, thank you. *takes a bow*
I do make most of what you see in the lunches. I live alone and tend to make full recipes, so I eat off the same things for a couple days in a row and often freeze extras. The sausages were made last weekend for a brunch. The cutlet I made a double recipe a couple months ago and put extras in the freezer for such an occasion as today where I needed a bit of protein to round out a meal in a pinch. Casseroles I tend to make, eat a few servings, and freeze the rest for easy future meals. I did not, however, make the chocolate kahlua pie which is finally gone. A friend brought that to my brunch and then left half with me!
I do eat pre-made faux meats every once in a while, when I just don't feel like making them or don't have the time. But I much prefer to make things myself.

Wow Jambox - you are one talented woman. You could give veganlunchbox.com a run for her money
Thanks Stickydate! I still need to get her cookbook. I asked for it for Christmas but I think she was out or something...

veganhomemade.wordpress.com
I'm still making mine every day, but just haven't got round to posting any

veganhomemade.wordpress.com
Seriously, you are making me want to get one of these laptop lunchboxes to take nice, healthy lunches to work.
Where did you buy it?
wow, you two are bentoing a lot (I just made up that verb).
I've been lacking inspiration lately, and am sooo happy that a parcel with some new bento goodies arrived today and can be picked up tomorrow morning.
Boxes from last week (only just got the pics uploaded). I'm on holiday now so back to the bento in April...
Yeah, for me it's not so much inspiration as that I have to take a lunch everyday or I'll be having french fries and a dressing-less salad. It'd be fun to get decorative sometime though.
Tomorrow: jerk tempeh, brown rice & peas, steamed collards, lime wedges, baby carrots, prunes & dried pineapple
veganhomemade.wordpress.com
horaay for tempeh!
My first parcel of new bento supply cuteness arrived today... can't wait to get back to work
BTW, there's a cute new page/shop about bento here: http://shop.iloveobento.com/
The Japanese bits are extremely expensive IMHO, but they've also got laptop lunches.
Ooooh I can't wait, my bento box is in the post and should be here soon.
** tries to contain vegcurry by administering intravenous hummus drip (or should that be dip? )**
I ordered my bento box yesterday, couldn't resist the temptation any longer to have a 'proper' one rather than my ordinary tupperware. And will come in handy as I'll be spending long hours in the library for exam revision...

"i'm rejecting my reflection, cause i hate the way it judges me."
Oooh, I might have to get some picks and cups and cute stuff, that would make it even more fun.
Today: almost identical to Wednesday's except the strawberries and carrots.

failing that i'll be improvising with bits of elastic and safety pins..errrgh...watch my dinner scatter?!

Hey, pavot, do you know if the Urara boxes are good? This set looks really nice:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...S%252BI%252BSS
@emmap & applepie: you could use any household rubber band to hold it together, I guess I'd provide you with some as I've got loads of bento accessories I never use but I keep on loosing the belts T_T
Astrid, I love the Urara sets I've got the red variety, 'twas my very first bento box and still is my favourite one. Lovely for getting started!
I've had it for two years and it's still in a very good shape (some of the cheaper boxes I bought after that aren't any more ).
it's okay, thanks pavotrouge, me and applepie have conferred and we're gonna make our own!
i'm also buying some snazzy orangey ones from ebay (for when my crafty snipping and sewing goes hideously wrong)

I've caved in and ordered this one, because it's so pretty.
http://www.japancentre.com/?cmd=itm&cid=520&id=2112
I don't actually need a bento box, but I'm sure an occasion to use it will present itself eventually.
what a pretty one!
Hurrah! my first bento (and my first attempt at making sushi as well).

Hang on Mr VegCurry, isn't that MY slice of cake?
Your first bento box looks great! Isn't it a good feeling when the box is all ready to go - they look so perfect it's almost a shame to start eating the contents!
I've now ordered the blue Urara set and some additional containers. So looking forward to start using it! It will be a couple of weeks till it arrives though...
Your boxes look so yummy! I'm hoping for mine to arrive tomorrow - can't wait to start using it!

I can't wait to jump on this bandwagon! I'm waiting for my laptop lunchbox to arrive, patiently lol....or not!
Vegcurry - we should bring out lunchboxes to SF and then we can have a little bento picnic in a park haha!
emmap your first bento box ROCKS! Did you find it filling? I think the size is deceptive - mine seems tiny, but when I've eaten everything in it I'm well stuffed! Yours is a different type to mine though, so not sure how they compare.
Oh I soooo have to get me one of these lunchbox things... Any idea where to get them in Scotland? Is there a decent UK website I can order from? Thanks
Knottykc
Hiya knottykc, I ordered mine from Becky & Lolo and it arrived the next morning even though I hadn't paid extra for fast delivery!
If only some of these could be delivered to my office! My mouth is watering for Tofu and some chestnut rissole.
When I move out I'll have to join in the fun.
Here we go, my first Bento!!!
Not very imaginative, can't compete with your masterpieces, but I was still majorly stuffed from last night's birthday dinner and didn't want a substantial lunch.
Salad in the bottom, and a wholewheat sandwich with yeast extract and tomato in the top, plus a box of raisins. Obviously, the nana didn't go in the box
I can't wait to try out all the other things I have in mind - never thought that library lunches could be so exciting!

I've created a monster O_O !
You people rock.
Can't bento tomorrow coz all my stuff are going to sleep at Cologne central station tonight... but will post on the weekend.
