    pavoutrage--I love the dolphin bento!

So my friend came to visit last week from Japan and she brought me a bento! I haven't used it yet because I'm usually in my room for lunch, but I might use it for a picnic lunch next week (or just to use it because it would be fun). Anyway, I thought I'd post a picture of it on here! It's kind of small but it's really adorable (I think). I'm really into cutesy things so I think my friend got a perfect one for me.

I can't seem to get the picture to insert...anyone know why? I'll just give the link:

Thank you! I tried doing that last night but for some reason the picture wouldn't appear, it just showed up as an X...weird...

Pavoutrage--thank you! Like I said my friend who brought me the bento has a good taste in all things kawaii....she always has the cutest keychains, coffee mugs, etc...I'm always jealous because sometimes I think everything in Japan must be that cute but I can never find anything that cute in the US...

I'm abit poor at the moment so my bento is kinda empty

    Mung bean chilli

Raw yellow bell pepper and dried fruit

    Handful of nuts

    A whole chopped avocado

    Peanut butter

The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.

Lidl is evil... they treat their employees like shit and spy on them. They shouldn't even be allowed to sell "fair trade" rice. Just my cuppa tea.

The Lidl scandal you are referring to is only the latest, EF. I'm not sure whether to trust this story because it has been conjured up by the mainstream media a lot with not too trustworthy reports at all.

Anyway, there have been several issues like this concerning Lidl in the past 15 years. I can't provide any online info but have read a number of books in the field of social (or not) economics on the matter. Have to pay a visit to the library to cite exact sources, though.

    YAY for bento!

    - quick research: Wikipedia Germany has a pretty good article about Lidl, don't know if it translates properly. The English version doesn't have any critical comments.
    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lidl

The Black Book of Lidl by ver.di, the biggest German service union can be downloaded here:
    http://www.verdi.de/lidl/schwarz-buc...%20Book%20Lidl

Another reference I have is working for a daughter company of Lidl three years ago, but that's yet another story...

For any one looking for a cheaper alternative to the cool bento boxes in the pictures Sainsburys is selling a 'lunch cube' which is quite cool - has 3 compartments and folds in half into a cube for £3.49.

Yes, I want one too. I wanted to get one of the 2-tiered ones, but am afraid they'd be too small, or too much to clean for me to keep up. You guys really seem to be doing well with the laptop style I think maybe I should just stick with the tried and true instead of trying to be different.

Yeah, I just got a 2-tiered one and it is a little small. I tend not to eat a whole lot for lunch anyway, so it's ok, and I find it's fine as long as I have an apple on the side, but a laptop style one would probably hold a lot more food.

I might be getting a job that NOT in a grocery store, so I'll need to definitely pack a lunch and not rely on buying snacks. I'm excited! I am gonna make vegan bentos that are so cute, they'll blow your socks off.

I still can't believe people can actually finish those. I use mine only for picnics with others. And I'm by no means a girl that eats little.

    Nice first one, Bryan !
