We have a tiffin carrier and the opposite problem, not enough opportunities to use it because it holds so much! It sounds an ideal solution for you though.

    Blueberry, thank you!

I do have a few bento boxes at home, some very old traditional ones my wife brought from Taiwan some 20 years ago (the metal ones with clasp), and the newer, plastic ones. One is even supposed to be "hot soup proof", guess I simply have to try it out. And, of course, I could always do with some additional 1 l tupperware containers for the salad.

    Best regards,
    Andy

Ideally, I'd like to have a combination of a bento box and a food thermos, but that doesn't seem to exist in the online store I've checked so far. But - is there anyone here who has tried this bento box:

I will not eat anything that walks, swims, flies, runs, skips, hops or crawls.

I haven't, although i do own a similar bento in form (i'm not sure it exists anymore, but it's a two compartments Totoro bento). It's nice, but i also like to use a long bento, a longer limited edition of this one :

I have ordered a few times from this website, and really like it. They ship from Japan, so be careful when you select the shipping, i've never had anything lost when i took the less pricey option, but if you take the level just above it arrives more quickly at home, it really depends on how much excited you are to receive your bento.
I bought an insulated bag in which i can put my bento and even have some place for an extra fruit, yogurt or small bottle of water. It was a no name brand i bought at my supermarket.
