Does anybody have a recipe for vegan butterscotch? I just can't stop thinking about how nice a butterscotch pudding would be today and I haven't been able to find a thing. Does anybody have a good idea on this? The closer it is to the old school dinners butterscotchy type pie the better....

I used to love butterscotch Angel Delight when I was a child - it was a real treat! I reckon if I had it now it would taste horrid and chemically though - and of course it is not vegan.

The recipe for vegan butterscotch pudding in The Joy Of Vegan Baking is delicious!!! I make it regularly, everyone loves it.

Am I alone in thinking that maple syrup tastes a lot like butterscotch sauce? Butterscotch sauce as in the stuff you used to get on icecream in pubs. I remember the first time I tried maple syrup (long before I was vegan) thinking the similarity was uncanny. As such I've never endevoured to recreate it.

i think the alpro caramel pudds taste very butterscotchy but don't know if you can get them there, auntie?
