i think i also have issues with my belly depending on what type i eat. i notice more problems with the ones that have a tartness to them also. what a bummer, because i love those. with a little bit of natural peanut butter!? mmmm!

I am going through a major apple phase right now! As long as they are crisp and juicy I like to switch it up with different varieties. My overall favorite is granny smith, but I had my first pink lady today and it was REALLY good! Lately I've been getting what ever is most fragrant at the grocery store and it hasn't steered me wrong yet.
Wow, I really want an apple now... but I just finished eating and I'm absolutely stuffed. Maybe with breakfast tomorrow! Yum, i'm looking forward to it

haha, there must be something to it. i once became what i would consider to be a bit of an apple addict. and by all means the crunchier the better. if i can actually get someone's attention on the other side of the room by biting in to my apple...i know i have got a good one!! i heard, and i think also read, somewhere that apples can give you an energy boost. i dont know if there is any truth to that at all, but what an added plus that would be!

Granny Smith is the baddest granny on the planet. I don't eat no apple unless I feel some kind of pain from the extreme tartness! Crunchy dark red apples (what are they called) are nice too, but Golden Delicious are pants!

I am really feeling the hate with regard to not nice apples.

Are there any other fruit which spark such feuds and infighting? Surely th eapple must be crowned the most vicious of them all!

yeah, unfortunately they are only in season for a short period of time..at least in my area. but when they are available, i eat them like they are going out of....well, season! ha!

Ok, by now you might have figured the answer out. The strong flavour, bold juiciness, crunchy texture, bits of skin that sometimes get between your teeth and, oh, the slightly acid touch make it top choice for me.
However, I have to point out that it doesn't have that strong apple smell which can only be given by Royal Gala.

I always have Elstar apples in my fridge, because I have five furry apple eaters I have got to share them with! We like Braeburns, too, but they are more expensive and like I said, there are six of us eating them almost every day. I never liked Golden Delicious, which is why I seldom ate apples when I was living at home with my parents. My father loves Granny Smiths apples. I eat them now and then. The others do not like them very much . Spoilt, I know .

haha...i am such a sucker for appealing packaging! even if it means a cute little sticker. but i do really like a perfect red delicious. the thing is, its hit or miss. you can wind up stumbling across one that is not ripe enough with no flavor, or one that is just a little too ripe...and then its all mushy and grainy.. eww! that is the worst!!

Whatever comes off my trees is my favourite. Last year I had the first apples of a Greensleeves I planted about three years before... just six apples, and they were the best I've ever tasted!

Oh my, I really fancy a baked apples with all the trimmings Aunti R - can you get Bramley's were you are? The closest I can get are canada apples ... I've got a Bramley's growing, but it's a LONG way of producing yet.

what are Bramley apples like?

Incredibly sour! Unless you cook them, then they taste like most other green apples would cooked, except they hold together better.
