    Default shortening

    never had a recipe with it in before. assume there are vegan replacments??

    is it the end of the world if i just double the marg? just less crumbley end result?

    These are in most uk supermarkets: http://www.pura.co.uk/speciality.asp You can substitute with marg with varying success, dependant on what percentage is actually fat.

    thanks mr flibble - i didn't think i would be able to do a straight substitution. recipes usually say things for a reason!

    i'm guessing pure isn't high enough in fat? have to think of something else for dinner then
